Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe check-in system is absolutely appalling and needs to be changed immediately. I stayed in this hotel two years ago, and was treated as a valued guest. It’s a wonderful place and offers great value. Two years later, the hotel has been taken over by Alda, and we are now treated, at best, as machines or, at worst, as criminals. I was asked to use automated check-in. I tried this 5 times (a complex process) and each time received a message which said "error interno del servidor" or “internal server error”. There was a button above saying “contactenos” - “contact us”. Clicking this led to “Error 404 - page doesn’t exist”. It was VERY, VERY frustrating. I sent two emails to two potential contact email addresses, ( centrozamora@aldahotels.com and 4980736725-srm5.bhpx.vyfb.a6dt@property.booking.com ) and received no response. I have copies if you need them. When I checked in, I was informed that the company has a “problemo informatico” - a “computer error” - that seems to be well known about, and there seems to be no urgency to fix it. This is TOTALLY, TOTALLY unacceptable and needs to change immediately. There is a separate issue. Using Booking should remove any doubt for both parties. The guest knows that they have a confirmed booking. The hotel knows that, in the event of a default, the booking is underwritten by a guarantee of payment by credit card. It’s a great system that assures fairness. I was therefore dismayed to receive a message that threatened that my booking may be cancelled if I didn’t respond to an SMS request to make a payment (a request that never arrived). The booking was prepaid, and the company should know this and not issue threatening messages. The wording follows: “check your phone and follow the instructions that you will receive by SMS to access the payment platform. In case of not doing it in the indicated period, the hotel may proceed to cancel your reservation.”
Too many companies now are focusing on reducing labour costs, introducing automated systems (that often don’t work) and are losing sight of the value of their customers and our freedom to choose. Summary: 1.If you know that there is a computer problem, don’t expect the guest to use broken system and FIX IT! NOW! 2. Don’t you DARE threaten me with a cancellation of a guaranteed booking which was made in good faith. It was prepaid. 3. The hotel is EXCELLENT. But it will get a low rating from me because of systematic management failure. 4. Please, Booking.com, intervene and tell the Alda management that you will drop them from your search engine until they fix their problems and treat their guests as valued customers.

United States of AmericaI walked on the Camino de Levante, and the day I arrived at this hotel, after walking from Toro, very tired, I had to call repeatedly to gain access to the front door, then go through the "registration process" through the hotel off site staff, who speak basically only Spanish - very fast and difficult for me to understand. Then to actually enter the premises I was given a code which opens the door to the facility. But there are two doors, one with a keypad the other without a keypad. Not knowing which door to open, this was frustrating and it took the assistance of a Spanish hotel client to figure out which door to push upon entering the code. The simple way to deal with such problem would be to place a sign on the unmarked door so one knows it's the door to push to get in. So it took me 45 minutes to finally get into my hotel room dead tired and frustrated. I realize hotel management tries to save money on site personne, but there's got to be better and more customer friendly ways to make things work smoothly. If you do not speak very fluently Spanish, don't go to this hotel, it will be a major pain just to get in. Otherwise the room was fine.
Centrally located near Zamora Plaza Mayor .

United KingdomThe check-in process was very complicated and via remote video link - not something explained at all at the time of booking. Was all quite stressful at the end of a long tiring day!

PortugalThe automatic check in might not suit everyone’s taste. But it’s not a big issue.
Great location, 50 meters away from Calle de San Torcuato, a pedestrian street that leads to Plaza Mayor on one side, and to a great tapas area on the other. Everything was very clean and quiet. The room was not big but it was comfortable

United KingdomThe electronic entry system was confusing on arrival, tho lady on system spoke good English and was helpful. Ok when we got used to it, but emails were only in Spanish, so we got the codes mixed up at first.. Would be nicer to have someone there, if only on arrival.
Nicely decorated room in good position. Quiet street with excellent restaurant in next door basement. Comfortable bed. All seemed clean and new.

New ZealandGood location. In between train and bus station and cathedral. Both 15 to 20 min walks Code system excellent once obtained but impersonal nature of 24 hr reception and trying to talk on noisy street not ideal. The man I spoke with was quite abrupt and seemed impatient. Not ideal. Room super clean. Modernised interesting decor. Comfy bed. Excellent wifi Walls tissue paper thin. Could hear everything. But neighbouring guests very quiet through night Unfortunately I was not aware that my room was very dark with a mainly opaque window into a small interior space. And for the price I did not think it was good value

United States of AmericaNo one actually works here, there’s a fully automated check in system that requires smart phone use to access. They are VERY strict about the check in time and won’t even engage with you through the check in system before your time starts. Door to the room requires smart phone use to unlock. No facilities whatsoever, the price is for your room/bathroom alone which is not even large, smelled like smoke, and directly above a popular restaurant so we could hear loud families well into the night. There are plenty of other options to stay, choose one of those, this isn’t worth it.
The location is the only thing to like— skip this “hostel” and go somewhere staffed with humans.

PortugalThe room is awful. If I say it is small it would be an overstatement and it was also very dirty. But the worse is not even that… There is a freaking green light that was impossible to turn off, which completely destroyed our night of sleep. Worst experience I ever had among more than a hundred accommodations that I’ve stayied in my life!!!

SpainThe hotel does not have a 24-hours personalized service from the video door entry systems installed: No one works there before 2:00pm It took 30min waiting at the door with our bags to do the check-in, asking remotely for our documents (they should asked this in advance). The person on the other side, hang up on me without confirming that we got our codes or if we needed anything else (we needed car parking). Our room had the Emergency light ON and flashing at full capacity for 1 hour every other hour since 11:00pm until 05:00 am. No one could sleep and no one there to complaint to fix it. Outside the room (Number 7) was very dirty. No one wants views of hundreds pigeon excrement. There was 10 degrees C outside and our beds were prepared with summer sheets.
