Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe pool is lovely but the restaurant/bar closes quite early, by 4pm so need to leave hotel then to get a drink. The electricity went once in our property, however maintenance did fix this is a manner of hours.
Great location, very clean and loads of space in the property! The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Overall it's very good value for money especially in the area bein so close to the beach and the old town.

GermanyIt’s a unique hotel. It was once a 5-star hotel, but not anymore, and now there are both suites and some permanent residents. The decor and everything in the room are old, like from the 1990s, but still functional. They gave us a large flat with 4 beds, 2 bathrooms, and a huge balcony, which we really appreciated, as I had only booked a studio but was upgraded to a premium one. The pool is very big, and for the price we paid, everything was quite convenient. The location isn’t very central, but it’s still easy to get to the center, and there are nice restaurants and great beaches right behind the hotel.

United KingdomSome furniture / areas of the hotel could do with some modernisation.
We had a lovely stay at Guadalpin Suites. We stayed in the 2 bed penthouse & the views were amazing of the seafront and mountains. Room was comfortable and clean. Food at the hotel restaurant was always fresh and lovely. The pool area was perfect, not too busy nice & relaxing. Of course some areas of the hotel could do with a little modernisation but this is not overly noticeable. I would definatly recommend.

RomaniaThe breakfast was decent, but it could benefit from having more options.
The apartment was clean and featured a spacious terrace. While the furniture had an old-fashioned style, it was still acceptable. Additionally, there was a nice pool available for use.

SpainCheck in was 15:00, we arrived at 15:00 and had to wait a few minutes. Our room was on the side so we looked over a derelict car park and a petrol station. You had to pay for the coffee pods in the room! And leave a €200 security deposit on check in. Pool area was very busy and not enough beds for the volume of guests.
Good location. Clean room. Nice pool.

United KingdomThis was once a great hotel. But it is showing its age badly. Bathrooms are outmoded, furniture was aged and outmoded and in some cases broken. Kitchen was an after thought to the conversion to a two bed apartment. No oven. Small conductor hob which we coud not use because such devices affect my pacemaker. Dishwasher worked but was badly installed and unless the washer was fully opened we could not access cutlery drawers. Bedrooms were good size but the beds were only reasonable and pillows were foam filled and not conducive to good sleep. No dinner service at all. Breakfast and lunch good on a small menu. TV was limited to BBC world service. All attempts by staff to get coverage of UK programmes failed. Internet dropped out several times. The room was supposed to have a smart TV - it was not. Wardrobes were too small. Indeed we had had to split our clothes between the two bedrooms to cope. Reception staff most helpful but the general ambience of the public rooms was that the hotel was empty. It had obviously once had a shopping mall and franchised restaurants but all were empty. Pool was a good feature but the surrounding paving was very broken and marked. We paid what we thought a premium price and it does not rate the cost. I must highlight an incident - I stepped out of the lift on the third floor and was narrowly missed by, believe it or not, a young man riding a heavy mountain bike in the corridor. We did report this occurrence but heard no more. I have never ever expeienced such a bizarre scenario in my world wide travels.
Local staff very friendly but not all spoke good english. Daily cleaners were very good and provided excellent service. Apartment had a very large terrace and view of pool but furniture, while plentiful was aged and very heavy metal. Pool side furniture and sun beds were plentiful and good. Pool towel service was also good. Pool attendants and life guards were first class.
