Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really but if you are a nervous driver or have mobility issues just be aware the property is in a remote location accessed via a narrow unlit road with plenty of gradient.
Good value and beautiful property in a remote location close to an small secluded cove and a 10 minute drive to Luarca, free parking on site, helpful and friendly host, comfortable and clean room, great shower. The property was not offering dinner and it’s a challenging 30 minute walk to the nearest bar or restaurant in Luarca. We did the walk and there were beautiful views and, fortunately, we found a €10 taxi back.

We loved this Finca! From the moment we walked in and were greeted by our host Daniel, it was a luxurious experience. The location is so charming, tucked into the woods at the end of a sleepy village, with sheep grazing nearby and a secret beach just steps down the road. We appreciated the parking being right there. Reception was so peaceful with classical music, artwork and comfy seating. The dining area was right there with beautiful views of the grazing area and woods. Our room was on the first floor (stairs or elevator); it was large with a big bed and desk. We were fortunate to have a patio to star gaze at night. The bathroom is large and modern with a great shower overlooking the hill. The room was very quiet at night, and the bed very comfortable. The next morning, breakfast was a delicious buffet, and we ended up buying a jar of jam and chatting with our friendly host. We will remember our stay here very fondly!

NetherlandsThe whole stay at Finca Portizuelo was beyond our expectations. The host Daniel made our stay all the more pleasant with his kindness, attention to detail and friendliness. The food at the hotel was the best we had during our stay in Northern Spain. Highly recommend a visit!

IrelandOnly issue was on booking.com it said we were 1.5 km from Luarca so we were planning on walking after a glass of wine or two. Luckily we noticed before that it’s 1.5 km by sea, but 5.5km by road. Just be careful to manage expectations. Once there it’s in a wonderful location.
Right beside a secluded beach. So went for a morning swim before we left. And loved the homemade marmalade!

United KingdomThe whole place was absolutely spotless. We loved the quiet location - listening to the birdsong in the evening and morning was stunning. We hadn’t booked food but as there isn’t anywhere close by we asked to book when we arrived. Menu was short but delicious and we were only sorry we didn’t have room for the home made dessert. Hosts were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble.

It was in the middle of nowhere near a lovely cove. An architecturally interesting building restored with great care and thought for its surroundings and ecological care. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom luxurious. There was even a kettle in the room which was great. It is a no tv hotel which wasn’t a problem. It was really quiet. In the communal sitting area there was a bar and relaxing classical music playing which was really relaxing. The grounds were laid out well with seating. Breakfast was well prepared and had a good choice, including smoothies which I recommend. The owner was really attentive and happy to talk about the building and how he restored it. Well worth a visit.

United KingdomDifficult to find. Room did not have air con or fan, so had to keep window open which resulted in lots if flies so not good sleeps. The walk to nearest town of Luarca was up and down steep hills, not suitable for older people
Service was good. Breakfast was good.

A private beach Just 200 meters down the road. It was a bit tricky to find this place the first day as my google maps/mobile network was slow at crucial points but we managed and by the second day it was so easy to visit the town and surroundings.

This is a not to be missed hotel. Great host, lovely quiet location. Hope too many people don't find out about it and spoil the lovely peaceful place. Such a change from being woken up in the early hours in city centre hotels. Can't recommend it too highly.

United KingdomThe finca is situated in a beautiful location, close to a tiny, idyllic beach. You’ll probably need a car to get there but it’s worth the drive. The house is very tastefully decorated, the rooms are simple and elegant, beds and bedding very comfortable, everything is spotlessly clean and there is great attention to detail in everything. there are no TVs in rooms which is fabulous - it means you can enjoy the surroundings, the peace, and when you open the windows after a good night’s rest, you can hear the sounds of nature, birds, the cowbells, nearby stream etc. The host is welcoming and kind, and gave us some great recommendations for our onward journey. Carmen prepared a huge, varied, fresh, wonderful breakfast for us which kept us going all day. We wish we had stayed longer here and will definitely return. Thank you, Finca Portizuelo.

United States of AmericaRoom appointment was quite simple. Because it’s remote from town you have to drive. All 5 restaurants recommended were either lunch only or closed, even one we drove to 15 minutes away.
It was a beautiful rural setting with a lovely private patio. A 2 minute walk down to the sea- which at low tide offered the chance to scramble over rocks for a unique experience.
