If you are not a Spanish speaker communication is difficult, this was particularly apparent trying to order dinner.

Location was wonderful. They were thoughtful about providing a vegetarian option for dinner.

The booking mentioned a la carte breakfast but on our stay we were all served the same set breakfast with no questions asked - I am vegetarian, so had to ask specifically for no meat. We also visited the restaurant for dinner, quite a lot of the menu wasn't available and when I told the waiter I am a vegetarian he literally facepalmed:D The property itself had a lot of weird bits - there was a room with a chandelier on the floor in the middle, a room with a bed stood vertically, a small back forest and a few closed rooms. We couldn't locate any spa or wellness areas nor were offered any. The room I had had a very weird bit of floor raised by about 1.7m above with a small ladder(?) and my friends' room had windows only in the bathroom(?). Bathroom didn't have any shelf to put a soap on, so my soap gone all mushy.

The view from the terrace is very nice, the hotel has lounge area, pool and a restaurant. Check in was easy enough, though we were not explained much about the place. Nice design elements around, good size rooms and bathroom.

Nothing, they try very hard to make things smooth for guests. They are new and will get better as they really do care and have pride.

The location is removed from any built up area, situated on a hill with amazing views over landscape and out to sea. Your transport is necessary to go to any restaurants, cafes, etc. although the food at their restaurant was amazing. Staff were very accommodating and English good enough to be understood and hold a conversation.

Lovely boutique hotel and restaurant. Very laid back vibe. The owner gave us some great advice about the local surf spots and restaurants as we arrived on Monday when the hotel restaurant was closed.

From the moment we walked in we couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Finca dos Mares. The restaurant has an exceptional view, and the food to match. The included breakfast was the best one I had during my 3 weeks in Spain. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The only bad thing was that we only had 2 days left of our holiday and we couldn't stay longer! Loved it.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like - we liked everything.

Nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted warmly by our host Fernando, who then gave us a choice of three rooms, (we picked one with a bath tub). There was a seating area outside the room and we could park on-site. Overall, it was like sharing someone’s home. They did a really nice breakfast and dinner. The decoration and layout were really nice. There were stunning sea views from the dining room and patio. The swimming pool area was clean, although it was too cold to swim when we went. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Mosquitoes mosquitoes and more mosquitoes. Until we retired for sleep we had the place as excellent. Two windows were open slightly to let fresh air in (no a/c) and that ruined everything. In desperation I slept on a towel on the bathroom floor to escape the buzzing but ultimately they found their way in there. It was the worst night sleep you could imagine. In the morning we counted 6 gorged mozzies in the bathroom and a further 16 on the ceiling and walls of the bedroom. Bring your own spray

Once our GPS found the hotel we were pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. The staff were friendly and engaging and our water view room was brilliant. The hotel is on a hill overlooking the water with nothing else around. Drinks and dinner were also very good.

airconditioning might give it an extra edge, escpecially after a hot day at the beachside

the location is wonderful, close to the beach, with magnificent view and excellent food prepared with love and care by the chef. The smell of his grilled potatoes and peppers will forever be a memory to cherish. The garden, the pool, the terrace...it s a little paradise on earth. I rarely go back to the same spot since there is so much to see in the world but here I will return.

The location of this hotel is not properly put into apple and google maps. We drove around for an hour looking for the hotel. The address given by the hotel confirmation routed us to a dead end, as did looking it up on Apple and google maps. The only streets we did not explore in the area were small dirt paths. There were no signs anywhere for the hotel as is common for rural hotels and quintas in Portugal and Spain. We called the hotel for help but none of the staff spoke enough English nor did we speak enough Spanish to clearly articulate that we needed further directions. Staff passed us along to several people and could be heard laughing in the background about our distress..In the end we had to book another hotel for the night and were not even offered a refund.

On our first night we booked restaurant for 20.30 only to be told at 18.30 that the restaurant would not be open that night as they had no food! We then had to walk to a very basic bar 15 minutes away for a very basic meal. The next night we were assured the restaurant would be open so booked it for 20.30 only to be told that they couldn't serve us until 21.30 as they were so busy! My wife and I were the only guests at that time. An even longer walk to end up with another basic meal and on return the restaurant was empty with two other guests turning up later.

Comfortable and beautiful location with fantastic views and a beautiful garden. Very good breakfast

Absolutely nothing.

We loved everything! This was the best place I've ever stayed. The food at the restaurant is exquiste and Daniel making the drinks and cocktails if fantastic. Fernando couldn't have been more welcoming and warm, he is the perfect host. The rooms are divine. The location is between two gorgeous white sand beaches.
