Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalIt is a bit tricky to park. We stopped at the front of the hotel, quickly went inside to get instructions on how to get to the hotel parking, which is underground and requires driving around the hotel block. Not a problem, but it is not free (it cost us an additional 13 euros for one night, but were allowed to leave the car there way past checkout time, which was very convenient).
The hotel is very comfortable, the entrance hall is gorgeous. There is a grand piano which the hotel guests can play (if they do it properly :), which I didn't have time to do but certainly will next time (please keep it tuned!) We only stayed one night and skipped breakfast, as we were on transit to Barcelona. But managed to walk around both in the evening and during the next day. The main center of the city is only 20 minutes away on foot. Besides, all the way to the center is a very pleasant walk, safe, with nice shops and cafes. The "Basilica" is breathtaking: a whole block filled up with an impressive and beautiful building, which can be visited inside during the day. At night the lighting of the Basilica is superb. Incidentally, Happy Cow directed us to a nearby place with vegan options, where we had a very nice dinner. The price, for a 4 star hotel, was quite reasonable, too.

PortugalThe rooms are a bit outdated but perfectly comfortable although better attention should be given to cleaning. We stayed in a large connecting room which included a suite with a jacuzzi. We had not been made aware of this and felt the bath was quite slippery and insecure, specially for older people. Overall is was a nice stay and great value for money in Zaragoza
Great location and kind staff. Biggest plus is the private underground parking for 13€/day.

SpainAlthough the Hotel had seen some improvement in the furniture in the public areas since our last visit the room had some problems. The air conditioning was difficult to balance and the taps in the bathroom were outdated and hard to work. So much so that we had trouble turning the shower off.
Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Hotel is in a good location close to the city and the old town. On site Parking is a bonus/

SpainHaving paid per night at a 4-star hotel, it was surprising that the furniture had defects, the water pressure could have been better, and the shower mount was faulty. There was also a strange smell, which I suspect came from the flooring.
The staff is friendly and responsive. There were extra pillows, and the beds were comfortable.

United KingdomThe traffic circulation around the hotel if travelling by car, which is not the hotel's fault; but perhaps include an explanation of how to get to the underground parking in advance. We arrived on the wrong side of the street via SatNav and had to leap out to get directions from the reception staff. Food in the restaurant was only adequate.
Exceptional value for money. All the staff, including in the on-site restaurant, were very friendly and helpful. The staff on the desk spoke very good English which was a great help to us with directions and menu translation. The piano, which happened to be played whilst we were eating. Amazing urns in the huge reception lounge. Huge choice at the buffet style breakfast.

Francethe room was clean and the bedding was very good. but the shower tap was catastrophic: impossible to get lukewarm water. either the water was scalding hot or the water was freezing. Finally, one of the bed lights was in poor condition.

United KingdomSeveral coach parties meant we cut breakfast short as it was impossible to get hot buffet without queuing out of the door. Only 2 coffee machines for serving yourself and they were very slow, once again long queues. Perhaps there needs to be a shift system for this large hotel to give all guests the chance of a leisurely breakfast. Also room decor very dated.
Secure parking, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Location good.

France- The carpet in the rooms (but we knew it from other reviews) - When lying on bed, one could easily hear when the shower of the neighboring room was used. It can be disturbing.
Arriving by car, we took a room with parking. It was quite practical given the location of the hotel. We found the size of the room quite good. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was correct. The staff taking care of it was very kind and helpful.
