Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe walls are quite thin and at times I could actually hear what the neighbors were saying. The terrace is very small. It's lovely, but it fits one person comfortably. The internet was a bit unreliable, but that's normal for this part of Spain. (Also, I wasn't there for the internet.)
Getting to the place is quite a hike downhill, but what a wonderful hike it is. It's a typical Spanish white village at its best, with beautiful houses, porches, terraces, winding alleyways, and flower arrangements everywhere. The apartment is small but cozy, and has everything you need, including a very well-equipped kitchen. The bed is very comfy. The place has a really good vibe and is well decorated and furnished.

SpainSeemed a little tired compared to the pictures. Bedroom door rubs on the floor and difficult to open. Mops and brushes stored in the bathroom made it feel a bit like a cupboard. No lampshade on the lamp perched on the bedside chair didn't look the best. Small points though.
Great value for the money and a peaceful location with only the sound of goats bells and swifts for company. Beautiful views. A nice walk through the older part of the village to get there, if a little steep in places; not sure a wheeled suitcase would survive. The welcome bottle of wine and pack of beers was a nice touch and the sack of logs left for the wood burner for those cooler winters days, with the option to buy more if needed, would be appreciated.

GermanyThe directions provided to get to the property could have been better. It would have been easier to to send a pin to google maps to find the location from the parking lot.
The space was lovely. It was nice to have the full apartment. it was great to have a balcony and the living room and kitchen space.

United StatesThere’s a reason why El Rincon is so highly rated. Unique ambience with a prize winning view in a cottage where everything has been carefully and whimsically selected for your enjoyment. A perfect choice for a delightful week in Capileira.

United KingdomDifficult for people with mobility issues, I broke my toe two days before arrival so too late to change booking but found it hard to get to property and around due to cobbled streets and steep inclines. Not fault of property though.
Location, decor, welcome pack.

FranceWonderful stay for a week with a three-year-old child; excellent location for trails away from summer heat. As mentioned in the announcement, the apartment is situated in the lower part of the village, which means you need to be in good shape to reach the centre of the village in 10-15 minutes, but even our three-year-old didn't have any problems. The good side of this location is the silence and the incredible view.

United KingdomCapileira is a typical Alpujarran mountain village, very quaint but with steep and uneven cobbled streets. From the car park at the top of the village it's a 500 metre walk to the apartment at the bottom, so it's best not to arrive with heavy luggage. The location also isn't suitable for people with reduced mobility. For those able and willing to make the effort, the reward is a wonderful place to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this very special place.
A beautiful apartment, tastefully furnished in rustic mountain style and with great views. Fully equipped with everything one could possibly need, right down to coffee for the Moka pot and dishwasher tablets. Excellent price to quality ratio, and located in one of the loveliest spots in southern Spain.

NetherlandsSome might find the walk from the parking lot a bit too much. We actually loved it because it was a nice stroll through the village.
The relaxed vibe in the house. The silence is golden, and as soon as you step into the house you feel relaxed. The fireplace is a big contributor. Everything you need is in the house; it's fully equipped. It is a pity we had to leave at some moment... We used it as a starting point to hike up the Mulhacén. Contact with the owner was totally online, but it worked very, very well.
