This is not a hotel, so adjust your expectations as, for example, cleaning will not happen more than twice a week or it might help to bring your own shower gel and shampoo or get them from the supermarket. If you do not rent a car, I do not recommend you to come here.

One of the best accommodation we have ever had. Accessible by car, it has great views, cozy rooms, amazing gardens, a pool & a sauna and a great host. Great restaurants in the area. Supermarket is 4 minutes away by car. You have everything you need in the kitchen to prepare your food (yes, there is no microwave, but we did not need it and I would not add it in that kitchen). Klaus is one of the best hosts we have ever had. Great talks, amazing recommendations, really nice, professional and helpful host. Location is very practical if you have a car. The weather is temperate, you can anytime decide to stay inhouse for the day, but you can also decide spontaneously to driver across the mountains, since almost everything is located from couple of minutes away to maximum 1-1,5 hours drive. We have already made plans to come back!

The location was absolutely stunning, the view from the window, the terrace, the gardens. Also the facilities(sauna and pool) and the staff were amazing, the apartament was spotless and very well equipped. The host is very friendly and ready to help with advices and recommendation. Excellent view on Teide, great service, suitable parking. Carefully choose an apartment because there are several options, and some don't have a tub, but the rest have big showers. They have enough toys for kids to play on a beach.

The views out to sea, the calm and the quiet of it all. The pool is lovely to use for a swim every day. And the welcome of wine and some cheese and bread! It has everything you need for a relaxing trip! The Host was amazingly helpful, and we used lots of his recommendations! Thanks so much for an enjoyable holiday.

It was just perfect. It’s hard to describe in words the breathtaking view from the terrace, but the swimming pool, the sauna, the apartment, the kitchen are so wonderful assembled and everything it’s just more than you would expect. Klaus it’s just the perfect host. He helped us with hints for our journey and to discover the island from the perspective of a local native. He was kind enough to help us build out trip plan, and he even gave us a personal map of the most amazing places in Tenerife. He managed to help us to get a discount at booking an ocean safari that was unbelievable. For sure, will come back again to enjoy a perfect holiday. Thanks for everything, Klaus. Alles guttes!

We honestly struggled to find anything we disliked about our stay at El Refugio's El Teide apartment. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations, making it difficult to pinpoint any negatives.

The accommodation at El Refugio was exceptional, perhaps one of the best, we have ever experienced. The El Teide apartment was spacious, providing us with ample room and comfort throughout our stay. The apartment’s location provided easy access to the many beautiful places Tenerife has to offer. We would be remiss not to mention Klaus, who not only gave us a warm welcome but also provided invaluable advice on places to visit. This property exceeded expectations. From the very thoughtful welcome pack inlcuding flowers upon arrival, to the many suggestions made by Klaus the host, to the view from the terrace where we spent many hours, to the comfort level of the accommodation itself. It was one of the most amazing stays we had. The view from terrace is breathtaking both during the day and night. Garden is really well-kept and adds to the experience. Apartament was neat and comfortable, we could acces pool and sauna directly from there. Kitchen is well equipped, suitable for cooking (there's also greengrocer's with local veggies nearby). There is a lot of intimacy and coziness so it's great choice for peaceful romantic holiday. On top of it all, owner of this place was very kind and shared with us lots of useful tips regarding Tenerife.

This is our second time staying at El Refugio. We stayed there three years ago for our honeymoon, and were truly excited to come back. The place is simply perfect! A bedroom with a majestic view of Teide, a luxurious bathroom, a spacious terrace overlooking a beautiful garden. Also a kitchenette, if you feel like cooking, and a living room to enjoy a meal if eating outside is not your thing. The location is great, in a peaceful village, but not too far from all the main attractions (having a car is a must though!). Klaus, the host, is as helpful as ever, and always pleasant to talk to.

Absolutely no complaints. One of the best places we’ve ever stayed.

Previous reviewers have said they absolutely love the place and so did we, so much that we plan to stay again. Superb views, great location, well managed, very friendly and helpful, excellent restaurant very close by. Used the indoor pool and sauna every day. Although a hire car is highly desirable we stayed for 3 weeks without one and used buses, taxis and our legs to get to places worth seeing like Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna and Santa Cruz. Loved our sun terrace. Very highly recommended.

We absolutely loved everything.

This place is by far the greatest choice when you want to spend a wonderful holiday in Tenerife. The location has breathtaking views, even when showering you can admire the beautiful coast :). Our stay was in Don Carlos apartment which has a generous living room, a comfortable bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing balcony with views towards El Teide and the sea. The apartment is clean, authentically decorated and very quiet. Klaus, the host, is super friendly and helpful, he left us a welcome package with food and drinks (which we really appreciated since we arrived late), gave us many tips for visiting the island and allowed us to have a late checkout. During our week in Tenerife we explored almost all the parts of the Island and we sincerely believe that we could not have chosen a better accommodation elsewhere. I have to mention that in the apartment complex there are a swimming pool, a sauna and many relaxation areas in the garden, which we unfortunately didn't have much time to explore since we took long trips everyday, but we have a reason to return to this paradise, since they look great. Everything was perfect.

Amazing place with stunning views of the coast and Teide. The cottages are clean and well-equipped, the kitchen had literally everything you could ever wish for, all the cooking supplies and even salt, sugar, pepper, oil and vinegar and more! The host was super friendly and even left us a nice bottle of wine, some breakfast ham, cheese, bread etc. and there was fresh coffee! This was a superb choice and we were very happy with everything.
