Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkThe property is on top of the hill in an old town with very narrow streets and some places very steep. If your car is large, it can be a problem. Parking is below the house in an open parking area, so drop your suitcases at the hotel door before going down. The property/room is in need of a tender loving hand....looks a bit tired but probably because the season is just starting.
The lady of the house was very helpful and opened up the restaurant for us and prepared an excellent dinner! - really lovely and great value. Small room but cozy. Ok bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was again served in the beautiful, underground restaurant 👌 I would visit again.

United KingdomSome maintenance of the accommodation facilities would be worth investing in.
El Pontifical is full of character, a centuries old building renovated into a large multi level restaurant with rooms above. It was quiet, at the top of the town with great, indirect, views across the plain below. Beatrice was a kind and attentive host, cooking us a delicious dinner on our arrival.

SpainSome guests might rate this as a negative point (I did enjoy it, though). Santos de la Humosa has some narrow streets and corners, so come here only if you're a skilled driver! 😉
If you value personal service, a quiet and peaceful location to have a restful sleep, places with charm, and want to have freshly pressed orange juice and the best scrambled eggs of Madrid outskirts for breakfast, this spot is a must.

United KingdomWas very difficult to find, up very narrow and steep streets. I had to park lower down in the village and walk up the hill with all my stuff because it's very difficult to find the hotel and access by car, so I gave up and got out and walked! They should send you detailed instructions on how to find the hotel and where to park, so that you're not reliant on Google maps and bad signal!
Lovely, comfy and clean room with great shower and toilet en suite facilities. Air con was excellent, bed was comfy. Was made to feel very welcome and it was a sweet room.

SpainI warned in advance that I had two small dogs with me. In response, I received a message - a surcharge of 15 euros. OK. But already on the spot it turned out that the surcharge is 15 euros - for each dog! For my absolutely trouble-free dogs, I paid extra 30 euros! This is not my first trip with dogs, but so far they have taken one surcharge everywhere. If the message had immediately indicated - for each - I would have found another place to live. Absolutely unacceptable parking. Asphalt is finished up to the parking lot. There are several large pits at the entrance to the parking lot. There is not even a small refrigerator in the room - nowhere to cool the water. There is no restaurant or breakfast menu on the website.
Check-in in the evening, at 20.15 no problem. Comfortable room, good bed.

SpainThe property was very beautifully renovated but there was a bit of a damp smell and some fixtures were not mounted properly so you had to be very careful not to break anything.
The setting, the host and the restaurant. We were very warmly welcomed and were served a very good meal in the evening.

SpainIt smelled very much of the kitchen, from the restaurant downstairs, in the whole hotel and the other guests were very clearly audible through the walls, which made it a little hard to sleep. Also the amount of stray cats was a little off-putting as they were constantly entering the (overpriced) restaurant.
The hilltop location and view are lovely but the town is a little lacking in facilities and charm

SpainIt was very difficult to find the hotel, partly because there was so much activity in the village due to the fiesta. The rooms were very dark, and rather small.
The restaurant was lovely and the lunch menu excellent. However, there was a fiesta in the village when we arrived and the restaurant was closed in the evening, and for breakfast the following morning.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike about the hotel. Getting to the hotel though through narrow streets could be easier but the hotel makes it worth the effort.
A beautiful hotel a little gem hidden away, but within easy reach of amenities. A great stop off en route from Santander to Alicante. A lovely meal in a cool cave part of the restaurant provided such a relaxing atmosphere. We have used this lovely hotel before and will be happy to use again.
