Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThere's nothing I didn't appreciate.
The hostel was easy to find and I could easily check in outside of reception times via WhatsApp. Everything was squeaky clean, the kitchen is very big, and the bedrooms are built intelligently. I had a great night and I wish that more hostels were of such high quality.

United StatesSlight disadvantage is that place for hanging clothes is only sufficient for one or two pilgrims.
A relatively new albergue (about 1 yr) on a side street of the city center. Fully-equipped kitchen with tea, coffee, etc., on donativo basis. Beds are in pods of four with curtains for privacy-- very nice. Small courtyard. Hospitalera was very welcoming.

SpainLeaving!
We arrived after a truly gruelling stage of the Camino de Invierno, and exhausted, and immediately were welcomed and looked after in what is the best Albergue on the Camino for Pilgrims, and I'd say for anyone looking for a great relaxing experience in a nice town. We decided to have a days rest there too, and I can't remember ever looking forward to a day off as we did at Dpaso. The decor, finish, little touches are immaculate and well thought out, and fabulous facility to eat in, with plenty of everything already there. Let's be honest....you don't get a 9.8 rating without making the effort for your guests. Beyond recommended for us, do yourself a favour and go and stay there!

AustraliaEasily the best hostel I've stayed in and better than a lot of hotels too. The staff were friendly, it was so clean, beds were comfortable with linen and towels provided and curtains and shutters to block out the light.Dining/kitchen area had good facilities to cook with and had a nice clean comfortable common area. An excellent stay after walking 34km on the Camino de Santiago. Definitely recommend staying here.

BulgariaMy stay was too short.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dpaso hostel during my Camino de Santiago journey, and it was truly the climax of my trip. The hostel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything a weary traveler could need. But what really made my stay special was the wonderful host, Iria. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel right at home with her warmth and hospitality. She went out of her way to ensure that all of her guests were comfortable and had everything they needed, and her friendly demeanor made it easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends. Overall, I would highly recommend Dpaso hostel to anyone traveling in the area, and Iria is truly the heart and soul of this wonderful establishment.

United KingdomChantada itself is a bit shabby on the outskirts but once you have a walk around and get cosy in a bar or restaurant then you quickly begin to feel at home.
The accommodation is very new and has been open for less than a year, hence everything is new and shiny. This is budget accommodation aimed at Pilgrims and walkers on the various Caminos, however we are a cost conscious family and why pay more when a hostel is of this quality. The sleeping area is split into "cubby holes" of 4 bed ie 2 x bunk beds - if you have ever been on an overnight ferry then you will get the idea. Very compact and functional but is does the job. There is a shared cooking area / seating area which was lovely to chill out in and read a book or share some breakfast in. The host sat with us on both mornings and we asked lots of questions about the area and the Spanish and Galician language which she was more than happy to talk to us about. Bathroom and toilet is a shared area but again was very well appointed and spotless. There is an enclosed courtyard in the centre of the building, which we didn't use, at it was traditional Galician weather when we stayed in October, but is a lovely feature. Plenty of bars and restaurants around to get food and all were exceptionally well priced - we even found our self checking the bar bill on a couple of occasions as it seemed too cheap - but it turns out we are just being robbed in the UK!

United StatesKeep up the great job and it is a good albergue. It offered breakfast and has a washing and dryer for donativo.
The owner welcomed and showed me the place. She attended to my needs upon arrival from a long walk in the camino. Made me comfortable and gave me the best room to have a restful evening. Excellent customer service.

SlovakiaI liked everything.
The entire place is beautiful and functional at the same time. All facilities are modern, and you can feel the attention to detail. The host (very likeable woman indeed :)), and her team, had all possible needs of guests on their mind when building this hostel from scratch. Was a surprise to find such a place in a small city in Galicia. Special mention to location. It is very close to the city center (2 minutes) but at the same time the place is incredibly quiet and nothing will disturb you at night.
