Location was great but the road was being rebuilt so tough getting around

The elevator was a little tricky. Okay once you get use to it. Road construction in front of hotel made difficult but that was not the fault of the hotel.

The entrance/elevator stairs were very old and scary. I wanted a room with a balcony but was unable to get one.

The free beer and food was a great treat. Rooms were great especially the bathroom. Alex was very helpful and so friendly. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was also very nice. The outside courtyard was very nice too!

For an older hotel it's was so nice and clean inside. The staff was wonderful with all our information needs. The little food bar that is available all day was an unexpected pleasure. Wine and beer included. You are in the heart of La Rambla it was close to buses and taxis.

The trash along the building right outside the entrance. Realizing this is not the fault of the hotel, but should be monitored by hotel as the first impression of walking into the hotel was not pleasant.

While the booking specified no prepayment mails demanding a new cc and threatening cancellation were tedious. I generally avoid leaving valid cards anywhere but on this the hotel wanted to take money as a cancellation cover and on another booking the booking.com site reported four valid cards rejected. All high stress.

Comfortable with very well run case storage. Almost worth the cost for that alone. Excellent breakfast and semi continuous buffet food with ad lib coffee beer etc 24/7. Very convenient on wet days.

The massive reconstruction project going on around the hotel made access more difficult - taxis had to drop us 100-200m away.

The hotel location was ideal for sightseeing adventures whether by walking, using public transport or taxis. The room was a good size for a city centre hotel, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom and shower excellent. The ‘all day’ buffet was very welcome and allowed us to eat when we liked and having sodas/coffee/tea/even beer and frozen yoghurt available was something we had not encountered before. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The musty halls, the outdated towels, carpets. I like the idea of historical but the basics needed to be updated. Elevator was scary needed a good coat of paint

The halls were dull and dated and it seemed like a bit of a haunted house but that was also kind of interesting.

The location was excellent, the breakfast was good but the fact that you could get food, beer or wine all day made it very good.

Location was excellent! BUT there was major road construction therefore we had to walk a “bit” from taxi to hotel and from hotel to taxi…wasn’t horrible but would have liked to know about that before we arrived. The breakfast was good and so convenient!

roadworks outside the hotel made access more difficult. Decor quote tired probably needs renovation, extremely expensive (because of congress)

Unfortunately we stayed during one of the biggest festivals in Barcelona and were right near to a stage in the square where music played until 2am so not much sleep for 3 night
