Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is both a plus and a minus - it depends on what you are looking for. Because it is out in the country, you need to drive a few miles to find a place for lunch or dinner.
The house is in a beautiful, bucolic setting. In the spring, summer, or fall, you will wake up to birds singing and cowbells. You can look out your window for a wonderful view of the mountains. It's also a short drive to the Fuente De cable car. The host is very friendly and accomodating.

United KingdomNothing, an elevator would be a bonus but we knew in advance there wasn't one.
Simple, exceptionally clean, comfortable. Friendly obliging hostess. Very quiet, high hamlet with great views. Great location for Fuente De cable car and high walks.

BelgiumVery isolated: if you want to eat or buy something (even a bottle of water), you have to drive to Potes (20 min by car). Breakfast is served only from 8:30 am. We wanted to take the Teleférico in Fuente Dé at 8 am, and so we couldn’t have breakfast, BUT the very friendly owner gave us a discount for the missed breakfast (never ever another hotel on booking did this!). No airconditioning (and in August 2023 it was quiet warm in the room).
Clean room, good breakfast, good price-value. There is a nice 4 hour walk that you can do leaving from this hotel (check on Komoot).

United KingdomI feel that a kettle in the bedroom would have been nice (to make tea). Apart from the delicious breakfast, no other food options are available, so guests may need to shop and bring in. The small fridge in the room helps.
Peaceful location, but not far from the main places to visit in the Picos. So quiet, the night sky was full of stars and the sound of owls was lovely. Maria was a lovely host. There are some great walks around the property too. Simple but tasty breakfast. Fridge in the room for provisions. Two friendly cats and a fat lazy dog kept us company.

Denmark- There is no AC and wifi is weak. So my suggestion will be to carry a portable fan in summer and ofcourse you dont want to use wifi when you are relaxing in nature
Liked the property very much - in the lap of mother nature and absolutely away from hussle and bussle of life yet with in 10-15 minutes drive from nearby restuarants. I had never met a sweeter lady(the host) - so humble and caring. Thanks for your hospitality and generosity. I was drinking wine and relaxing in the afternoon - she somehow noticed and just brought me some salamis to enjoy - made my day!!😊😊😊

PortugalIt was almost perfect. The beds were a bit to hard for my taste, but my friend liked it. I would give a 10 if there was a bit more variety on the breakfast (like yogurts, dark bread, and/or cereals).
Breakfast was good but nothing too fancy. We had a choice of toast with butter and/or Jam. Also there was always a slice of cake. And some kind of typical fried "pancake" shaped things that I don't recall the name but were delicious. The Staff was super friendly.

BelgiumThe host of Casa Carielda was amazingly kind and told us all about the national park of Picos de Europa. The hotel is a short drive from the cable car at Fuente De while the town of Potes is about a 20 minute drive with many dinner options. Our room was comfortable and cosy. The view was stunning. Highly recommended for nature lovers. You do need a car.
