Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThis was such an amazing surprise, such a beautiful ancient house full of history. Everything was just marvelous, from the wonderful room, very clean, comfortable and with a beautiful decoration that was thought on every detail. The house is just wonderful and reminds us of the past but with all the commodities of the present. The breakfast is very good with details of the Spanish cuisine like jamon and the tomato sauce for the bread. The highlight of the staying was the owner Jose Antonio, that is a wonderful person with a heart of gold, that will tell you the story of the house in the tour that we makes with us, also was very helpful with all our questions regarding the region. You can sign that it takes pleasure in working with the guests and likes to attend to every detail. It was wonderful to have met such a beautiful person and his also very nice and cheerful wife Ana. This is a place that it’s worth the detour in case you’re passing through the region. My congratulations to Jose Antonio for all his good work.

MaltaThe room would benefit from a fridge - even a small one. I asked the staff to store some of my perishable food, they were very helpful with that.
It is a historic house previously owned by the Fuggers - the wealthiest European family in the 16-17th centuries. The interior is a bit dated, but you would expect that, wouldn't you? The host was absolutely lovely and helpful, too kind :-) It is close to the mining museum, about 10 minutes walk from the center of the town.

A two night stay in the town of Almaden to visit the mine. Very comfortable room. I was met by the host, Jose Antonio, at appointed time and shown the room, Indeed the host upgraded my room. A lovely building with a great charm very much supported by the host's continuing attention to detail. A light but good breakfast each morning. The host was also able to garage my car for the two days

NetherlandsStaying in one of the oldest buildings of Almadén certainly is an experience, sleeping in a monumental room where history is all around you! If you come by car, drive up the street until the little church at the end and park on the square next to it, only a hundred meter walk to the hotel. And from the hotel it's only a ten minute walk downhill to the worldheritage-mines for a tour; at the same church go right, then left twice and you're there.

SpainThere was absolutely nothing at all to dislike.
This was a truly exceptional experience. The owner, José Antonio, went far beyond what is usual to help us, and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel itself is like a museum, with something exciting to see at every turn. José Antonio is the most courtly, polite, and knowledgeable gentleman, with such excellent conversation skills. His breakfast is pretty good, too.🍏🍐🥐🥖☕️🧈🧀 If we're in that area again, we'll definitely re-visit. 🌹

United KingdomAn interesting exterior with a large heavy wooden door, and a stunning interior to this property, absolutely full of history, and located on a quiet street. The owner/host was extremely welcoming and informative, giving us a guided tour of the unusual rooms. A locked garage space was provided for our car at the rear of the property, and three bicycles were accommodated in an enclosed courtyard. Bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was fantastic. I would highly recommend a stop over here.

SpainThe only thing that we missed during our stay were a few commodities in the room, we didn't have a table or garbage bin - the only garbage is in the bathroom - also no mini bar (though you can probably ask the owner if you need to keep something fresh in the kitchen) - and only one couch, so if you go with friends it's not super comfy to hang out in the room. Also during summer the wasp population is quite abundant - though I must say Jose Antonio tried to hunt down all the wasps so I could enjoy my breakfast :)
This Hotel is located relatively close to the center of Almaden, with a quick walk you can easily get around town, but it's also pretty easy to go by car, not a lot of fuss to park so it's dealer's choice; when you arrive at the hotel you are surprised by an almost immersive experience: the classic renaissance decoration brings you back to the 19th century, and you truly feel like you're experiencing how kings and queens lived back in the day. All the details from the reception, to the interior patio to the rooms are exquisite so if you're a history geek you will love it here! The only thing more impressive than the decoration is the flawless way Jose Antonio takes care of his guests, very attentive and always available for anything you need while still respecting your space and time; breakfast is very typical Spanish, with toasts with butter and jam, or minced tomato with olive oil, there's also spongy cake, fruit and yogurts. Lastly, but not less important, we visited with 38 C degrees in heat, but even without air conditioning this hotel remains fresh (there's ceiling fans, but we didn't need them) inside which was a very nice surprise too!

United KingdomMaybe a small fridge i the room would have allowed visitors to have their own cold drinks available throughout the day, as there was no bar available.
The hotel was decorated very tastefully, and the owner was very attentive. We visited the old mercury mine (heritage site) and the hotel was just a couple of minutes walk away. When we arrived the owner said he was going to upgrade us to a bigger room, which was really lovely and had its own private patio. So we were very pleased. The breakfast was really nice and laid out in a large room with a massive table, and Linen napkins, and fresh organge juice and coffee served by the owner.

One of the most special and interesting places we have ever stayed in. The bedroom (and bathroom) was large, comfortable and surprisingly warm (for such an old building). Amazing! The host / hotelier is understandably very proud of this unique place to stay and is very helpful. Breakfast was served in an very impressive room and was very good.

He is very knowledgeable and kept us enthralled with his tour of the place and its importance in the history of the town and the colonies Spain obtained gold and silver from. SpainWe endorse all the glowing and well deserved reviews that this hotel has received and it was a privilege to stay in such a historic property. We chose it for it´s location, a 5 minutes walk to the entrance of the decommissioned mercury mine that we had come to see, but we did not expect to have such a luxurious and interesting stay and meet such a delightful host. Thank you Jose Antonio, we shall be recommending the Conde Fucares to all our friends and family.
