Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI liked most of it! Maybe adding an on/off switch to a very loaded multi plug in the kitchen.
The atmosphere is relaxed, respectful and friendly. The hostel is clean and has got all that is needed in the kitchen, room and bathroom. In this hostel there's a good chance you'll actually meet who's there with you and share a chat or a meal. It is on a budget, but not cutting on anything, very decent and clean.

SpainFor the price, I thought everything was acceptable. The atmosphere made my stay worth it, because you can relax.
This is a decent, affordable, central and chilled hostel. The guests were pleasant and there is a dedicated quiet time curfew, so unlike other hostels, you can get some rest. There was fruit, eggs, tea and coffee available for free. The staff on hand were happy to help with information when asked. Overall, the place has a good atmosphere. I'd stay there again.

BrazilIt's a not a hostel problem, it's a Lanzarote thing: public transportation isn't great. So unless your renting a car I'd recommend staying nearby areas of interest so you can try to do walking-distance things. Arrecife is kinda central to the island so its convenient but it's not near any point of interest like the beaches or mountains, so it can be a bit of a problem.
You get what you pay for. It's a simple hostel but it gets the job done, staff was super friendly and the general vibes are good. Not a party hostel so great because you get to rest properly, but still doesn't mean there was no social atmosfere, it was just more relaxed. Clean sheets and towels were provided, kitchen was fully equipped and the showers worked very well.

United StatesThe bathrooms were clean but they were a bit small. Not a problem, for the price and overall experience a minor inconvenience. On Lanzarote you won't find bigger or better at the price. The door combo code is worn out, definitely time to replace. Door to dorm won't shut properly workout slamming.
Staff were great. Nice welcome, very friendly and helpful. Great location in city, close to everything Beds were comfortable, room good size and even though it's in city it was quiet, unusual for Spain. The place was clean, kitchen, bathrooms l, common areas Overall a great value. There are few hostels on Lanzarote. This is definitely one of the best, by far the best I stayed at. Great place to meet people! It's busy, Often full. Don't wait till last minute Thx for a wonderful stay

United KingdomThe owner who organises the bookings not so much often forgetting to send people the door code so ensure you call or message in advance to get it. They also say you can check in at any time but of course Diego isn't there waiting 24/7 so you have to find your own way around when you arrive. Noise is the only problem because the rooms are around the common space and the 'windows' above the doors are just mosquito net. When I asked people to be quiet when it was late they complied however it would be nicer that I don't need to do that myself and that the staff would be more conscious and do it for you.
Diego who is the live in person running the hostel is really nice, helpful and friendly. The hostel was always very clean. The fridge and shelves well organised with your own box to put your things. There actually was a small locker each in the rooms, maybe it's new as other reviews said there aren't. It is correct there is no aircon or fans but so far none of the other hostels I stayed in in the canary islands had them either even the expensive ones. The location is very convenient 3 mins from a main bus stop and 8 from the bus station.

BelgiumI would have loved a little more comfort: the couch in the common area was not very comfy; the beds in the dorm had no individual light, there was only one big light for the whole room; the dorm had no window, only the door...
Staff was very friendly. The hostel was simple and clean.

United StatesNothing big, but the door combination lock is old and the numbers worn, it'll open but at night it's a bit tough to see.
Diego was very friendly, good vibes and a good place to meet others. I slept well, the bed was comfortable and the hostel was quiet at night. Very close to everything, the main bus station 15 min, other buses minutes. The hostel was clean. It's a bit small and was fully booked, but the common areas and bathrooms were clean. For 22 euros i slept really well, met people and felt like I had a home in Arrecife. It's a small hostel yet in my opinion it was more than adequate and I was comfortable. If your looking for a budget place on Lanzarote this is it. When i return in a few days I'm staying there.

HungaryThe place could use a bit of investment. - The room didn't have a window (maybe you can see it from the pictures but I didn't realize it). - No power outlet next to the beds and there was only 3 plugs for 4 people with an extension next to the door. - No bigger cabinets for the clothes. - In my bed sometimes the wifi was not working (I guess it was too far from the router) - I had a girl roommate one day and we went to explore the city together and when we got back late at night a guy was sleeping in her bed and she didn't get any notification regarding this bed swapping (and also room change). They swapped her into another room, without letting her know previouly, cause the guy could't sleep on the top of the bunk bed.
The place was clean and easy to find, few minutes from the bus stop. - It has a good vibe but it is not too spacious (based on the pictures it seemed bigger to me than it actually is). - The staff was nice even though they didn't speak English. - There was free toiletry in the bathroom that everyone could use (shower gel, shampoo, sunscreen, etc. ) and towel was also included. - There was a small locker/cabinet for every bed, but you should bring a lock to close it. - There is a common area that you can use. - In the kitchen you have everything you need but not the the latest condition. - There is a separate fridge for the guests. - Also there was free fruits and biscuits some days. - Be aware that there is one bathroom (with 2 showers) & 2 toilets for the whole place. I liked to stay here and for solo travellers for a few days I would recommend, but if you are have snoring roommates it's hard to rest.

SloveniaThe maintenance is not that good. Some things could improve easily, like doors, sockets for each bed, lights, furniture (bit unconfy) etc... It looks like there is no investments in improvement things... Its basic, and for day or two not bothering.
Staff was very friendly. Hostel was not expensive it has everything that u need for a day or two. I liked open space interrior and terrace.
