Beautiful location in the middle of the forest; it’s quiet and calm, making it great for rest. The staff was nice overall, and the lady from the restaurant was super helpful and nice to us! Big shout out to her and the food. We loved the location and the whole ambiance. However, I was disappointed to find out that you have to pay 15 euros extra to use the pool. Maybe I did not read the conditions well, but I think this is a liability because you can't fully enjoy the hotel without paying extra for everything. It's not the cheapest hotel, so you would assume you can at least use the public spaces. Other than that, the room was big with good beds, though the furniture and bathroom were old. Overall, it was comfy. Be aware that the place is super far away from town, so you need to get a taxi! We also loved the picnic food we got for breakfast the next day since we left super early and didn't have time to enjoy breakfast at the restaurant. ❤️

Room wasn’t all that nice. It was pretty far off the Camino de Santiago. We had to take a taxi from Palas de Rei. But the office gave us a map to walk and intercept the Camino further up the road when we left in the morning.

Very scenic area; good breakfast on site. Bathtub in the bathroom was a plus.

Fantastic place to relax and recover

    • Deluxe Double Room with Castle View

All perfect. Just be aware that on weekends, cabs and car services are limited to take you to the Hotel from the closest cities. The Hotel is relatively distant from the next village (that's exactly the point of staying there) and you'll need a car to get there. I recommend to make a reservation for a car in advance if you're arriving on a weekend

Wow, where to start? The staff was extremely helpful, food is excellent and fresh, the spa offers a variety of massage treatments including treatments with the local spring water that has medicinal properties. The pool is large with two jets of pure spring water, there is a sauna, and a cold water pool. It's located in a rural area surrounded by Nature. It's the ideal place to relax and recover.

The property is beautiful and off the main roads by a few miles. They have a restaurant and deck with lovely views of forests and the surrounding mountains. The front desk and restaurant staff were wonderful, very welcoming, patient and kind. The food and wine were excellent. We were able to pull our car down to unload bags at our building.and they accommodated our request for a double bed. It is an older property and does not have an elevator at the outer buildings, so be prepared for stairs. I do think an elevator would ruin the charm of these unique round buildings. We will definitely be back!

We had nothing to complain about - the staff were attentive and friendly; we were warm and comfortable.

Sambrexio is quite a way off the beaten track, so finding our bed for the night was a challenge - no signposts off the main road and very little local knowledge of direction. But here we are finally after a long ride through the forest lanes- in the lap of luxury with tea on the terrace, a spa and pool at our disposal (for a fee) We are very comfortable and secure that our bikes are outside on the terrace and we have views over to Pambre Castle in the distance. The restaurant was busy and obviously appreciated by those in the know. Breakfast was adequate and served in pleasant surroundings..

    We loved everything !

This was such a treat whilst walking the Camino. Nestled in the Galician countryside, so beautiful. The receptionist was a local , full of interesting information, and suggestions for our days rest. The thermal spa was great and the hot stone massage was the best we’d ever had.

The bed was a little hard for our tastes but overall still a wonderful and comfortable room!

Beautiful location, a short hike for us off the Camino and well worth it for the wonderful time we had there. The staff were so friendly, and the food was some of the best we’ve had during our two weeks in Spain. We enjoyed the lovely hike along the river to see the castle, which we also had a view of from our room. The soaking tub was also a HUGE delight for our tired souls coming off a long day of walking the Camino. Highly recommend!

Where do I begin? When we walked in and saw the dust, cobwebs, and dirt on the walls we thought, maybe the cleaners have poor eyesight. We paid extra for the "deluxe" room with a castle view. Yet we were confounded to find anything deluxe about it and we could barely see the castle in the distance. Then we turned on the AC and it began dripping condensation through the ceiling... Until it broke entirely and began heating the room. It got to 28.5! We're not sure what we paid so much for. Not close to the Camino. The pool costs extra. The front desk clerk scolded us for taking a pear from the breakfast area before the 8 a.m. Save yourself! Learn from our suffering....

If you like flushing money down the toilet - the one with a stains on the seat - this is the place for you!

A non-expensive restful and isolated place with good spa
    • Leisure trip

The room was nice, a bit small, not too well lit and on the ground floor. For dinner we had to argue to get the à la carte choices as they seemed to be set to serve only a predefined menu which was not put on display. What you need to know is that the place is quite isolated (about 15 kilometers from a national road) so if there is something that you do not like you can hardly walk away.

The location is extremely pleasant and restful. It is an ideal place to enjoy walks, good air and lovely surroundings. The food is good and not expensive. The spa is well kept, clean and they are extremely careful with Covid-19 issues. The thermal water did create a calming and soothing effect which also positively impacted the skin. I would certainly recommend a tour there.
