Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had to have a super quick shower because the hot water ran out. I don't remember this happening last year. No kettle! Apparently available on request but when I requested one there was a bit of a hunt around and was then told that there wasn't one. Luckily I'd taken my own, just in case. The room has a coffee machine. I'd rather have had a kettle. No toiletries - I didn't dislike this but am saying it in case people go, expecting there to be some. The rooms are quite dated but I understand that they're being refurbished between May and November. Tara Bungalows are very reasonably priced. I expect this to change after the refurb. Whilst we don't go on holiday to watch TV, BBC News would have been nice. All channels were German or Spanish. If there were any English ones, we didn't find them. Not one of these things would stop us from going here again. We love it here and it suits us.
This was our 2nd visit here so knew exactly what to expect. The complex is fairly small, which we like, and each bungalow has a good size terrace with sun loungers, 2 chairs and a table and a small area of grass. Planted between each bungalow, and as a hedge along the front are hibiscus. and it is all beautifully kept. The pool has plenty of sun loungers but, as we were there in March have no idea what it would be like in high season. The pool bar is tiny but serves delicious food with very generous portions. Our room was a good size with a living area and kitchenette, bedroom and generous bathroom. The bungalows are located about a (nice) half hour walk from Maspalomas and the beach, but that didn't bother us. In fact it suited us well because it's quiet where Tara is situated. There's a courtesy bus from Tara down to the main area.

United KingdomVery nice and hardworking staff. Especially Rachel at the Reception, who was very professional and helpful. She was a fantastic and friendly customer service representative and is a big bonus for Tara Bungalows!

United KingdomI had seen conflicting information regarding a kettle so emailed the hotel to ask if there was one. I was told it had to be requested at reception, on arrival. This I did and one wasn't available. Luckily I'd taken a travel kettle but given that kettles aren't expensive, I think this is a small thing that is an unnecessary nuisance. Especially when the room has a coffee maker!
It was really peaceful. I'd requested a quiet room and we were given a room at the end of the small complex which fitted the bill. Our terrace didn't get the sun which suited me but wouldn't suit everyone. The complex is in a dead-end road so wasn't very busy. The kitchenette was basic with minimal equipment but I had no intention of making any meals so it wasn't a problem for us. A tea towel was provided. I'd taken my own tiny bottle of washing up liquid & a sponge which was just as well. The bathroom was spacious. The hot water for a shower was not exactly plentiful. I almost always ended up finishing my shower with water that was getting cooler and cooler. The bedroom had lots of storage. The bed wasn't comfortable for me but I sleep very badly. My husband was fine. There was a TV in the living room but we didn't turn it on and our neighbour told us there wasn't an English channel. But we don't go on holiday to watch TV. The complex is about a half hour gentle stroll from the beach at Maspalomas. There were places to eat nearby. There was a small supermarket not far away. The hotel doesn't have a car park but there is parking opposite which did get full although we always managed to get a space. Think it might be challenging in peak season. There's a small pool bar which is closed on a Tuesday. (Maybe becaue it was March). We only had 1 lunch there but it was MASSIVE!!! A club sandwich and fries which, had we known it would be so big, we could easily have shared. And it was delicious, by the way. I would happily go back to Tara. The small niggles were minor and massively outweighed by the good things.
