Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing we disliked. I suppose the apartment signage could be better but that is not the fault of the host. It also would probably be easier to find in daylight! It would have been very helpful to have information in the apartment re: location & timetable of buses into Valencia, nearest supermarket, if possible, an English speaking taxi company (we weren't able to book one as the operator didn't speak English & couldn't make out my poor Spanish so a lovely waitress in a restaurant across from El Campo booked us one. We had waited 30 mins at the taxi rank but none came), or local things to do. Our taxi driver advised us not to drink the tap water but arriving in the middle of the night meant no shops were open. I would have paid extra to have had water and a few essentials (e.g. bread, milk) on arrival. I've found this 'welcome pack' in other bookings. I have cancer so take a lot of medication and thankfully had some water I bought on the airplane with me. None of these things would prevent me from coming back. We loved the area, the apartment was great and I would definitely go back.
Location is fab! The balcony is 100 feet from the sea & the views are stunning. The Mediterranean sea roars day and night, the sound is incredible! The apartment is adequate, it's not luxurious but is well equipped. (Bring a travel kettle if you are a tea drinker as there is none). There is one double room and one not so great, narrow room with two single beds along one wall. There's no room for anything else so no bedside light, wardrobe or place to set anything on. But the fab full terrace makes up for that. We arrived at 3.30am, the taxi dropped us off some distance away from the apartment so we walked around trying to find it for half an hour before calling Irina. Using video on our phone, she guided us right up to the front door. (She was lovely, considering the 4am phone call!) Port Saplaya is a small residential area on the outskirts of the city. If you like noisy bars, late drinks & nightclubs, you will not like this place. We loved it! It's just €12 in a taxi to the city centre & well worth a trip but bear in mind the Spanish siesta as virtually everything except restaurants close from 1.30 - 5pm but open again until 9pm.

United KingdomNot many nice places to eat nice Spanish food around no local markets in foot distance only pizza etc. Having apartment with kitchen made only easy to cook breakfast but it's not suitable for proper dinner there was few things missing so we didn't cook.
Nice view from the balcony.

IrelandThe general condition of the apartment was shabby. We assumed the pool was next to the apartment from the picture’s in the apartment add. However, it was a walk away but we had the beach.
Irina she was the welcoming staff. She was the best thing about the apartment. The View from the balcony was wonderful. The rusty railings, chipped paint, and very uncomfortable chairs were not. On the positive side there is every thing you need very close around you shops, restaurants, bars etc,. The beach is just next to the apartment that was lovely.

Spainthe shower didn’t work great (in one bathroom no shower curtain/door and in the other the hose leaked water and you couldn’t put it on the wall); they were painting while we were there and it was uncomfortable to have them in front of the balcony;!the plastic they used to protect the railing blocked the view snd made a lot of noise with the wind. Also, the parking is tiny snd hard to get in and out
great views, quite but close to Valencia
