Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandFantastic location, only a 2 minute walk to the Mesquita. Beautiful courtyard and roof top - a lovely place to spent time during siesta when it's too hot outside!

TurkeyI wish the common areas (living room, patio, terrace) would not close after 11, also sometimes had connection problems with wifi but it was not too often, so its ok
Very beautiful interior, everything was very nice and clean, nice staff, incredible location. Facilities were enough, had lockers in the room. Had some doubts on booking mixed room as a woman but everything was great with all the roomies!

BrazilThe beds could have some type of courtain for an extra privacy, but outside of that, it was all good.

United KingdomThe top bunks were unusually high so there were a number of foot-hurting ladder rungs to reach them. Luckily, I had a bottom bunk! The locker locks were very basic. You're relying on the honesty of your roomies and not on the integrity of the locks. There were no individual bedside lights, so one person had to hop out of bed to get the main light once everyone was ready to settle.
Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Clean bathrooms and dorms. Loved the roof terrace. Very picturesque surroundings, I loved the ambience.

BelgiumWhen you come in during the day you can't enter the hostel with a key or code, but you have to knock so someone of the staff can let you in. But that's just a small thing :)
Every single staff member is super friendly and wanting to help, from before checking in till after checking out. I felt very welcome here. It is a nice and calm hostel, no outside noise, even though it's in the center just a street away from the mosque. Even the guests were all quiet. The atmosphere was peaceful which made it nice to rest there during the day too. It's a pretty building. There's a small kitchen with all the necessary things for making your meals. The bed was comfortable and the showers were of a comfortable size as well. Apart from the lockers in the rooms, there's also space under the beds which I used as storage space. I think this hostel really suits the city well and I would come back here if I were to return to Córdoba!

I had a great visit. The location in the old town of Cordoba was fabulous: down a quiet alley a stone’s throw from La Mezquita. The place had a charming ambience and was great value for money. The staff were friendly, kitchen worked well for a small backpackers and there was bottomless coffee😉.

MoroccoIf you could find a way to let the guests open the main door from the outside that’s gonna be better than bothering you every time. If you could put a shelf beside the upper bed it would be perfect.

ChinaDepends on the roommate, the experience varies a lot. I stayed two nights there, the first night was perfect, but the second night was like a nightmare.
The location is super convenient. Thanks to it, I could visit la Mezquita in the morning(8:30-9:30am)for free. Everything is within walking distance. Besides, the building is a traditional house with patio, terrance. The most important thing is they are equipped with kitchen and very clean.

Italythe general comfiness of the room was not that good. for example the room was quite small so i couldn't manage my stuff that grately and the bed didn't have a power outlet right beside it, so i couldn't charge my phone while having it near me
The location is optimal (right beside the mezquita) and the hostel is really pretty. i really enjoyed the kitchen and the common spaces (for example the terrace) and i felt i had all that i could ask for

United StatesMy bed is on top and too high for a small person like me.
It is near the Mesquitta Cathedral and other important landmarks. The place is clean. There is free fresh brewed made coffee in the morning at 8 am. The only thing is the bed is too high for me to climb. I find it difficult for me to go up on the bed. The staff are kind and friendly. They help you out when you ask them for something, directions and places to go. The volunteers are very hard working. They make the place nice and clean. I will definitely come back to this hostel. I’m happy there.
