Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainEverything was great. We didn’t have the opportunity to try the spa. We tried extending our stay one more day but the rate given was too pricy.
I believe the hotel overachieved our expectations. The location is fantastic, the atmosphere at the hotel is great, the service was excellent and the nature surrounding the hotel is astonishing. Coming back for sure

United KingdomAll was good!
Well appointed and professionally run hotel - everything was good and we would happily stay again. The restaurant is quite 'upscale' but we were able to get something more casual in their very pleasant bar.

United KingdomA little out of town so need to organise taxis to and from Santiago city centre, but this was known when booking so was not a problem. May be an issue if arriving late.
Room and facilities provided were excellent. Bed was large and very comfortable. Excellent restaurant, highly recommend the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Excellent café open all day for casual dining and drinks also. Breakfast was excellent. Spa was also excellent; good amenities for use and reasonably priced massages and treatments.

United StatesInsufficient air conditioning and keeping the windows open at night required jamming a shoe into their corner. Too hot in the rooms and there was only a thick comforter for bedding; no sheet. Spa was bad: awkwardly put two naked people into the same soaking room and the massage was a waste of time.
Great breakfast. Closest to a latte I got thus far (still not a latte.)

United KingdomWe liked everything.
The staff were excellent and very friendly and accommodating. The room was fab, spacious, comfortable, with lovely decor. The food was excellent. We used the bar/restaurant and enjoyed all dishes. The spa was great too and not too busy. The location itself provided with an opportunity to go for long nature walks.

United StatesWe can't say enough good things about A Quinta Da Auga. The room was beautiful, they have so many unique décor elements from the wallpaper to furniture to historic fireplace elements that they have kept intact and incorporated in the rooms. The bathroom tub was wonderful especially after finishing walking the Camino. The grounds are beautiful and there are wonderful trails to walk which are surrounded by water streams on both sides, very relaxing and cozy. The room service menu was delicious, we got the veggie and club sandwich with a soup. The room service was also very timely. The hotel coordinated all of our taxis to Santiago to go shopping, get dinner and finally the airport. Breakfast was included and was very comprehensive. We dinned in the restaurant on site and in their 'pub' area, both were lovely and we enjoyed it. The spa was awesome, we got massages and relaxed in their private water therapy room, which I highly recommend.

United Kingdom1. we went to the hotel in the middle of April, when the temperatures were reaching 28°. The night was too hot and we couldn't get a good nights sleep. After complaining at reception, they provided us with a floor fab. Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem and it was still hot at night . They told us that it was impossible to switch on the A/C as it was April and they switch on the A/C until May. There were other guests complaining about the heat overnight as well. 2. Even though it is called hotel spa, the spa is not included with the price of the accommodation. It costs €30 per person for 90 minutes to use the spa (hydrotherapy, sauna, and Turco). It becomes very pricey to use the spa on a daily basis so we were only able to use it once in our three days stay. 3. The outdoor pool looks very pleasant, and even though they told us at the reception that it was open, it doesn't get cleaned until May, so it was dirty and we couldn't use it. With temperatures going up to 28 - 29° in April, they should reassess the situation of opening the outdoor pool earlier in the year and making it available for their guests.
All the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. Atmosphere is calm and tranquil. There are nice outdoors areas with a river going nearby which makes it for a pleasant walk. They provided us with robes and sleepers, which were very comfortable to be able to use the spa. The staff in the cafeteria (special thanks to Omar) was very friendly and extremely helpful. He facilitated a table for us, so we could have the cake and the wine we had brought to celebrate a birthday. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a good variety of hams, cheese, fruits, and eggs and hot chocolate on order.
