Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAs in downtown, the street can be a little noisy at times but not a problem really. Nothing to bad to say about this place
Good stay here. Great location in downtown close to everything. Budget friendly rooms recently renovated so clean and new. Good wifi and aircon and really helpful staff and owner.

BrazilThe beds are comfy but the pillows are high and hard, i think it would be better to replace for thinner and softer ones since the bed is good. We got a 4th floor room with no TV which was sad cause we also had no internet due to room renovation the hotel was doing. Make sure you have a room with internet when booking.
The owner is super nice he did everything he could to make our stay pleasant, he even bought us food for lower price so the restaurants couldnt charge the "Touristic price". The breakfast is great, one of the best we had in Egypt!

NetherlandsNot much! It's a great place and they are working hard to make it even better. An elevator is under construction (which most people won't need, but still) and they are working on improving the inside breakfast (maybe later also for dining) floor. The bathroom could be a bit better but also that will change.
Venus is a good choice if you're looking for a nice budget ho(s)tel. My room with private bathroom and balcony was really affordable, looked new and had a great brand new AC. The bed is comfortable enough for western people (meaning: it's not hard; I slept fine). There is a fridge in the hall you can use. You can also take free water downstairs. And there is a spacious rooftop terrace and inside area to have breakfast. The location is great: few minutes walk from the train station and Luxor temple and not far from the ferry. There are some small shops around as well and you are right next to the souks. Breakfast is nice and plenty and the owner/staf are very friendly and helpful.

PolandThis is not a high-end place with luxury, but it's a place that will give you everything you need at a price that is hard to match. You will get a bed with bathroom and a breakfast which is better then in more expensive hotels I have stayed in in Egypt. The staff and the owner are very helpful. Always tere for you with a warm tea.

MontenegroThere is no lift here so if you're in bad physical shape you may want a different place.
This is a very friendly family-run hotel headed by Mr. Hassan. After a hard day of travel I felt immediately at home on arrival by the welcoming staff and was invited to share in their large, delicious post-Ramadan supper at no charge. Mr. Hassan really gives extra effort to help and advise his guests. (I have been traveling several months in nine countries and I would say this hotel is one of my favorites.)

AustraliaStayed at Venus hotel for a night-the place is clean and located centrally. Mohammed the owner of hostel is a very generous man, he offered me meal a few times and gave me a warm welcome. He helped me organise tours around and resolved issues if any. He even offered to drop me at the airport and let me stay at their hotel whilst waiting for my flight. I had a great stay at his place ! Cheers to him and his crew.

CanadaNo elevators means long walk up and down the stairs, for whoever cares about that.
I stayed in a few of the hotels in the area and this one was better than all of them. The staff are very friendly, and the owner in particular really went out of his way to make sure I had the most enjoyable stay, helping me with bookings, giving recommendations, and being really flexible with everything. He treats everyone like family and even invited me to tea. The room I got was surprisingly quiet given that the hotel is just off the street , and the beds were really comfortable The hotel felt very central to everything too which was great

PeruWe traveled with our grandma and the hotel, doesn't have an elevator, hopefuly they give us a room in the first floor so she could access more easily. Could be noisy some nights, if you're in the ground floors.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They pick up us from the train station, for free. Its very close you can walk or take a taxi. If you need something they go with you to the store, exchange house or Pharmacy. Mohamed were very friendly and helpful (thanks for everything!!) The breakfast was pretty good, also if you ask for any extra and they have it, will give it to you. The hotel is in the center of everything, 5min walking to Luxor Temple and the train Station. It's close to stores and restaurants, also the street next to the hotel is a market. The rooms in the upper floors were remodel, very comfy.

PolandThe biggest problem was the bathroom and "holes" through which you could hear the buzz of the local city.
Hotel in the very center of the "old town". After leaving, we were immediately among the local community. Local Bazaar, Street food. Very nice and friendly service (greetings!;)). Unfortunately, it didn't work out with the balloon flight, but that's the balloon company's fault. Transfer from the airport and to the Valley of the Kings perfectly organized. Lots of talk and laughter. Very nice breakfast. I recommend! although rather tourist class.
