Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe were stuck inside the elevator because the energy was gone but Doaa was so helpful and she tried the best to help us and fix it. Thanks!
The most remarkable thing about this Hotel is the staff, they are always there to help!. You guys are lucky to have them! Thanks to Doaa, Mohammed, Ahmed and Basel and all the cleaning staff they were amazing! Room was always clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean too, the A/C works perfectly and you also ger a small fridge inside. We don’t get annoyed by the noise outside so it was not a problem for us.

United StatesThe building that the hotel was located in was under construction, so there were a lot of workers in and out.
Perfect location and a great room! I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff. They made sure that I felt comfortable and that I would experience the most of Cairo. They had great recommendations for food, coffee, and shopping.

SloveniaThe room is equipped with an air conditioning machine, but at night you can' t leave it turned on because it blows too much. We couldn' t figure it out. But also you can' t leave the windows open because of the traffic, people are honking all night😛
We absolutely loved the room we were staying in. We were sad we only got to spent 1 night on Tahrir square. We were blessed with an amazing view, you could see the Egyptian museum very well. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

SpainThere was no elevator and the hotel was on the 4th floor, but they said they will be fixing it, so maybe now it works. Also, there was some noise from the street, so the soundproofing wasn’t ideal but for us it wasn’t a problem - I wouldn’t say it was too big of a problem but it depends on everyone and their noise tolerance.
The property was very good for the value. The staff, for example, Mohammed, were all very friendly and welcoming, trying to make our stay as good as possible. The location is perfect, right in front of the Egyptian museum and close to some good local restaurants as well as to some bigger hotels with rooftops.

The staff speak great English and are really helpful with making you feel comfortable and assisting in booking many tours from the hotel! The rooms are a great size and the hotel serves a great breakfast for you.

United KingdomLocation is amazing but at the same time it was noisy at night. However Cairo is a huge city so you will get such noise anywhere you stay in the heart of the city. I would recommend to bring ear buds if you’re sensitive.
All the staff working at the hotel and those involved as a contractor such as taxi drivers, private tour guide. Private tour to Giza pyramids organised by the hotel was our highlight. Our guide was very polite and humble. At the end of the tour, we were taken to a koshay restaurant and the koshary we had there was 100 times better than famous koshary restaurant in Cairo. Thanks to all the experience we had from the hotel, we all love Egypt. Thank you so much!

United KingdomWe were very happy, but something to be aware of - the hotel is located within an historic office building that is still being refurbished, so guests should be mindful of this. The lift needs to be repaired and this may take some time. The stairs will be a problem for guests with reduced mobility. Another thing which may be a problem for some is the noise, the rooms with a museum view overlook a busy road and car horns can be heard throughout the evening and night. This however didn't prevent us from sleeping.
The rooms were clean, spacious and well-decorated. We were offered a free upgrade from a queen suite to another suite that had a balcony. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough to help guests - for example, a very kind gentleman on reception helped us to find a nail salon, called the salon and then prepared a list of prices. The same gentleman also made a list of destinations to visit and instructed us on using the metro/subway.

AustraliaNo where to hang any of our clothes, but to be fair they are renovating each of the rooms beautifully
The location was good, very busy as expected, don't let the first appearance put you off;this is a very old building the ground floors are very run-down , but the gem is when you arrive at the reception, it's lovely, the staff were wonderful, so helpful, the room was spacious and clean, we could have booked all our tours from the hotel and wish we had, safer and cheaper, all in all a pleasant stay.

GreeceThe only thing that you might need a day or two to get used to is the traffic noise cause of the central location and the driving culture of Egyptians.
The room was spacious, extremely clean and comfy. The staff gave us the most hospitable service. Breakfast was awesome, both choices (oriental and western style). They even went through the trouble of finding me a doctor and buying for me medicine when I was feeling unwel. Location was in the most accessible part of the town and they helped us find the best guided tours. I Would stay again and i would definatelly suggest anyone to choose it for a lovely stay in Egypt.

United KingdomThe only thing I’d say is that the bathroom had a weird smell. Could be overlooked given that this hotel is much better than others I had considered in Cairo. The rest of the building can do with an upgrade but it’s not the hotel’s fault as it is government owned.
Had a lovely stay at the Tahrir Plaza suites. The location is fantastic and super convenient. They provided a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise, so the view from the balcony was great! The rooms were clean but mostly the staff was fantastic. They were very hospitable, pleasant and ever ready to help. Dora even gave us recommendations for fantastic restaurants and places to shop without getting ripped off.

ItalyMaybe a bit loud, the windows are not really soundproofed. The hotel entrance might scare you (not their fault, the building is old and government owned) but don't let it fool you, the inside is much better!
Super-super friendly staff, available 24/h Great location, right in front of the Egyptian Museum Really clean and big room Good price (we learned that in Cairo it's worth spending a little more rather than going for a cheaper hotel for 15$ a night, we don't recommend it at all)

PolandWe stayed in a beautiful, freshly renovated room with balcony and view over Tahrir Square and the Egyptian museum. But we particularly loved the staff here. Every single person was nothing but kind, helpful and accommodating. They were doing everything to make our stay worry-free and help us to solve issues we didn’t even asked them for help with. Amazing people, who love their guests and you can feel it.

PortugalThe stairs of the building are old, but the interior of the hotel is well-maintained
Our hotel in downtown Cairo was an excellent choice! The location is unbeatable, right on Tahrir Square with a view of the Cairo Museum. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well decorated. Special thanks to the staff, who were extremely friendly and helped us create our own itinerary to explore the city. Despite the old building, the entrance doesn't do justice to the little gem inside.
