Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGood value hotel in Qena. Easy to get a taxi outside to take you to Dendara. Staff were friendly. Breakfast is delivered to your room (a typical Egyptian breakfast of bread, cheese, yogurt, banana etc - but no hot drink). Rooms on the street are noisy. For the price paid, it's good value for money and fine for one night.

United StatesThe breakfast is rather basic but wouldn't ask for more at this price. A electric kettle in the rooms would have been very good.
Very clean room with helpful staff! There is an elevator and there is wifi in the rooms!

GermanyIt is a very simple hotel but we also only paid 16€. So value for money is great but obviously you cant expect great things. Its a basic accommodation which was nice as we only needed it on our drive through Egypt as an overnight stopover. You even get breakfast included for the price which in our case was a lunch box as we left very early. Very nice that it was prepared for us.

GermanyI booked a room with AC because I read that people complained about noise. And it did not make a difference… it was extremely loud from the street even with closed windows. Breakfast is very basic but ok.
It was very nice to be in a hotel in Egypt where they are not trying to make money on you. It was my first time. Bed were comfortable and the room was big.

AustraliaThe noise!!! The windows aren't properly sealed so it felt like I was sleeping on the median strip of the main road. The hotel needs to install double glazing and seal the windows properly. If it hadn't been so noisy, I would have given a score of 7. There is no shower curtain so you have to ask for extra towels to soak up the water after every shower. The towels provided are closer to hand towels in size. The hot water service wasn't switched on so my first shower was cold. When I complained, the guy showed me a switch to flick but this should have been turned on by house keeping when they prepared the room before my late afternoon check in. The breakfast was not good - not much provided and a hot drink costs extra. They could charge more and provide a better breakfast.
The staff are really lovely. I was especially grateful to the night staff who were on when I checked out. They hailed a cab for me and negotiated the price so I wouldn't be overcharged. The location is convenient as you have shops and cafes & restaurants very close by. It's close to Dendera Temple. The area felt safe and the locals were friendly. The room was large, clean, and the bed was comfortable. They provided tea & coffee in the room and even a cold non alcoholic beer on arrival. There is also a mini fridge, table and chairs, and the air conditioning worked well. The rate was super cheap. There isn't much accommodation to choose from in Qena so they could afford to charge much more and put the extra towards fixing the window sound proofing.

United StatesShower head hose was damaged but still worked fine. Would have been nice to have a floor squeegee to dry up the bathroom floor after showers.
Quite impressed by the cleanliness and quality of this hotel in a small city. Had more amenities than we expected for the price: elevator, small fridge, AC, TV. Plus front desk was able to print a document for us. Comfortable beds. Room 208 was quiet from traffic noise, but earplugs still needed due to a rooster crowing in the morning. Breakfast was simple, yet included three different cheeses. Great location for visiting Dendara Temple and Abydos. Came by minibus from Luxor and departing via overnight GoBus to Cairo. Had tasty meals at the Papa Burger and Koshari restaurants on either side of the hotel.

United KingdomNo proper breakfast, the man who prepares breakfast does not look clean, so we only asked for boiled eggs. No duvet cover, no duvet, there is a cheap throw-type of thing. Area is not considered to be safe by the local police, which I learned once arrived at the train station - taxi drivers do not know the area, the police held us for a while to help us to find secure way to travel. The police are very good people. Due to the communication issue, they didn't tell me that they do not help to book tours to Dendra and Abydos. It's a standard that when one asks a hotel at cairo, or aswan, or luxor, about how much a tour costs, the hotels are ready to book for you through their means. But this hotel actually tells you a price they think to be reasonable, without booking for you.
Staff are good people. I am sure they want to help but they don't speak English, so it's very hard to communicate.
