Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe hotel is on the West Bank, which is lovely and quiet. Hotel is very pretty, clean and well run. The rooms are very spacious and the shower has excellent water pressure. Beautiful roof terrace with great views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Food was delicious. Mahmoud is wonderful and always available. Nasser helped with all our tour needs and gave such amazing advice, he also invited us to a traditional celebration in his village which was incredible.

NorwayExcellent location, food, staff, the atmosphere in general has been spectacular! I would go back every time I want to visit Luxor. By the way, with views of the valley. Mahmod is incredible, he helped me make plans to visit the Valley of the Kings, Hatchetsut and also make a plan to fly in a balloon, very friendly and correct. Chatting with him is also quite interesting. Without a doubt I recommend the place. It's not a fake, it's real. 😊

HungaryWe loved everything
We loved everything about Cleopatra Hotel! It was clean, cozy, and incredibly peaceful. The food was absolutely amazing, and the view was beyond stunning! You can watch the hot air balloons float up with the sunrise and from the rooftop, you get a clear view of the Valley of the Kings. But what really made our stay unforgettable was Mahmud. He was beyond incredible, always there for us, 24/7, making us feel completely at home. No matter what we needed, he was always happy to help, and he did it with the biggest smile. We honestly won’t forget our time here! I fully recommend Cleopatra Hotel, it is an absolute gem! If you have the chance, don’t miss out!

MexicoI didn't want to buy tours, I noticed change in owner demeanor then got ask (1 time) why I didn't want to do tour. Afterwards, words were to a minimum; I paid for 5 nights but needed to leave, the reservation was not cancelled or revised with correct date so I lost 50$ usd. He kept the reservation opened as if I was still there so booking.com wouldn't refund me. NO WIFI on iphone14pro!! No water provided after arrival All area is cash ONLY Locals are horrible. Things almost got physical due to not wanting to buy anything when I walked to see Nile River. The place itself was cool but my overall experience was terrible. Paid for "breakfast & dinner" included but only got breakfast.
Very quiet area overall, greeted with a warm welcome and fresh drink. Cold A/c, hot water, pretty clean environment. I didn't feel forced to buy tours or hounded by owner. I stayed to myself to get away from loud Cairo. Great seeing horse nearby

AustraliaNo kettle, tea or coffee in room Only minor - Personally didn’t like lace curtains around bed, old, discoloured, and smoking smell in material. Maybe need regular wash.
Location, staff, rooftop, air conditioning, price, supermarket/bakery/stables around corner. Only walking distance to restaurants, main road shops/stalls, Nile River, boats, etc

We liked absolutely everything in the hotel. Our room was huge and nicely decorated, shower was hot, breakfast was tasty. Location was in a quiet part of Luxor, there was small shops near by, and a good restaurant just around the corner. We discovered a lovely local café few hundred meters from the hotel. Overall the location was great. The best part of our stay was the service we got. Everything we needed was provided for us, that included organizing tours, balloon trip, private taxi for sightseeing further afield, etc. Highly recommending this place!!!!

This was my favorite hotel in Egypt. We stayed for 7 nights. Located on the West Bank, the neighborhood is much more chilled than the east bank. The locals are friendly. The hotel itself is charming with street views from the terrace plus view of the Hapashput Temple in the distance. Tours were offered for a very fair price. However, the staff are the real attraction. Friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Mahmod and Waed for making our stay so enjoyable. *****

United Kingdomthe balcony was a little dirty when I first arrived, but that was cleaned properly after the first room service, so not a big deal.
Loved my stay here, the balcony, rooftop terrace, great service, and delicious breakfast really topped it all off. Honestly, the location was perfect for me, just off the main road on the West Bank, much better than the east bank for me, less chaotic, and way more tranquil. Great wifi and working conditions for people who want to work in this hotel. Highly recommend to solo travellers, families, and working professionals.

EgyptThe air conditioner might need some maintenance, it cools down the bed area, but not entire room. Considering I was in the room only to sleep, it wasn't a big issue.
The staff, especially Mahmoud were very helpful and polite. Unlike some hotels in Egypt, that charge at the premises with a higher exchange rate, this hotel did according to the official rate - very transparent. The owner of the place also arranged a hot air balloon flight for me which was 10 USD cheaper than other providers (usually prices start from 60 USD). Breakfast is basic, but fulfilling. When I told Mahmoud I have allergies to beans, he gave me some jams and honey as substitute, which was great for breakfast. Mahmoud helped to arrange the ride back to the airport. The location is very convenient if you are going to discover things (which is a lot of touristic places) on the West side, including the hot air balloon flight. It is also walking distance to quite a few local chilled restaurants on the Nile (I liked Nile Rose Cafe and restaurant). In the morning, you might be able to see from rooftop, while having breakfast, horses playing or training at nearby stable. Overall, it was a good stay. In Luxor, you won't be spending much time in the hotel, so this hotel is perfect for a short full of activities stay.

SpainOwners are really nice people, warm and welcoming. We even shared Ramadan breakfast together. Rooms are comfortable, clean and with air conditioning. The location is great, the West Bank is much more calm than the east bank. Nearby services like pharmacy and shops. You can walk in 5 min to the ferry to get to the east bank. Also, magnificent rooftop to have breakfast looking at the mountains of the king’s valley.
