Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe room was a bit dark due to the window being so small. Common areas are a little dull. There is a construction site right next to the hotel, but it was not disturbing.
Cheap; amazing beds and great noise isolation; room has everything for a short stay. The common areas have some vending machines and a small kitchen you can use. Air conditioning worked well despite the heatwave. Check-in and check-out are automated. There is staff but you don’t need to interact with them.

GreeceAs i understand (i am engineer) every floor was two parts and every part has (2) rooms that have not window to outside but one to an internal patio with natural light. Those rooms are small, linear and not spacy but after all for a single bed room are nice and have spacy bathroom. What i really DONT LIKE is the digital way of CHECK IN/OUT through a macine. I have told that for other hotel also. We are going towards to a digital FACISM and thats not good. A traditional reception will always be a HUMAN thing.... Thats the only reason that i didnt give 10 to the hotel.
The hotel was a very new one, had living room on every floor for the guests and also a kitchen. The breakfast was not buffet but it was a choice between (5) options. I took salmon eggs benedict and the quality was very very good. The glass elevetaors were very super and the location very close for walks in the old city. The best of all (for me) was the parking in the underground of the hotel that was conected by the same elevator. Very good and safe parking, not really expensive (15/day) with plenty space.

United Arab EmiratesThe only thing I would fault is that my room wasn't ready when I arrived. I arrived an hour after the check-in started and I had to wait in the lobby with my suitcases for the room to be ready. I understand this can happen if I arrive too early or exactly at check-in time, but an hour after the check-in starts it should be ready (especially as I prior informed the hotel that I will be there when the check-in starts, not later... and I was an hour late anyway). But that is a small issue. I still am very happy with the hotel. Also, a small (and easy and cheap) fix the hotel could do - invest in some door stoppers. I was alone with two suitcases, the door of the room is super heavy and a cleaner came to help me in, there was no way to keep the door open. I asked her if there is a trick and she said no.
Nice new hotel. Very modern and smart. Awesome breakfast. I travelled alone and stayed in a room with a single bed and it was a very comfortable bed. I recommend asking for a room facing the street on a higher floor (I think I was on the 5th floor and I enjoyed my room and view). Location is amazing!

TurkeySecurity: 8/10 (we didn't see any security personal around).
Location: Perfect 10/10, for us in the most important part of the city, close to old Town, cruise ports, major attractions, mass transportation lines, malls, groceries, nice cafes & restaurants, etc. Check-in & out: Easy and smooth, early check-in provided; 10/10. Personnel: Overall, very kind and helpful 10/10 Room: Room furniture quality is good; however, some basic toiletries are missing. Large room. A/C works well. Cleaning was good. Modern WC/shower and overall high hygiene standards 9/10 Common spaces: 10/10 Wi-Fi: Flawless 10/10 Breakfast: It’s served a-la carte. We liked it, better than most European standards, 9/10 Overall: our experience was 9,5/10 and we may consider staying in this hotel again on our future trips.

SwitzerlandAlways a bit suspicious about these fully digitalised hotels but everything worked wonderfully - check-in/out super easy, nice room, comfy bed, functional design. Liked the communal spaces - very practical and stylish. Tasty breakfast menu. Good location to reach Tallinn center and trams/buses/train close enough to discover also the surrondings.

Hong KongIt is probably the common practice that you need to do the self check-in but PIN was required (and my credit card has no pin for this kind of paying method) when we tried to make payment. Glad that their colleague was stationed somewhere at the lobby who came for the rescue. You also need to pay with your credit card (with PIN) if you need to do the laundry, not too convenient for people like us who come from a city where we can just tap and go.
We travelled from Finland (Viking Line) and this hotel locates quite near the ferry pier, just a five minute walk. The staff was friendly and help. Room was quite spacious and clean. Breakfast was good too. The Tallinn Old Town was not far from the hotel, walking distance. Recomended.

NetherlandsThe location. Not that I did not like it but there is construction around the hotel and the neighborhood is cold and toneless. Not the biggest problem and you can be in the old city in 10 minutes.
CityBox Tallinn is a low cost hotel fully providing quality service. Check-in was smooth, the room was spotless clean the bed was extra comfy and quiet. Everything in the hotel is so practical and customer friendly.
