Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandHotel has a water problem. Tallinn water is fresh and pure, ok to drink tap water, but during evenings and mornings there's not enough pressure to have shower in 6th floor. Actually it was hard to even fill a cup for washing your teeth. So take caution: fill the cups early, have a water bottle, and shower early in the evening and morning.
Great location in Old Town. Very nicely renovated room in 6th floor of side building right next to the hotel, with a view over rooftops. Room was not on the street side, so very quiet (even on friday - sunday trip). Main building historical, breakfast in the old restaurant of 2nd floor.

United KingdomThere weee only minor things such as you can get wet when going to breakfast if raining and the self serve breakfast room feels small when busy. There was limited WiFi in our room and we resorted to using our own data sources.
We stayed in the Annex on the 5th floor. The room was very spacious and comfortable. There was no noise from the bars on the street below. The breakfast was in the main building a short walk away. It was comprehensive and tasty. The location is excellent and close to all the old Town sights.

United KingdomThe ‘classical side building’, where we booked our room, is above a bar/nightclub and directly opposite another. We were given a room above the bar and didn’t get to sleep until 4am due to the noise and thudding music. A phone call to reception at 3am to complain resulted in a move to the main building in the morning and an extremely quiet room for which we were very grateful! I understand that the original room, not sure about others, is only allotted when the hotel is full.
Great location for seeing the sights. Extremely helpful friendly staff, spacious rooms, nice breakfast and old quirky lift.

IsraelThe elevator was kind of small, but that's ok. The room was ok, but nothing special.
Good location, right in the old town and close to everything. Easy to access by bus from the airport. Silent. The breakfast was ok. There are two buildings that belong to the hotel - the main one and another one across the street - I was in the latter.

United StatesFire alarm started beeping in the middle of the night. Ceilings too high to be able to get to myself. Took some time for hotel to address this and they just removed the fire alarm instead of replacing batteries. No AC in the unit. Did not realize this was not standard in this region. So double check that rooms/units have AC if it's warm. It was fairly warm but not unbearable.
Well located (very central). New apartment (not a room in the main hotel; an apartment just down the street). Large space, well furnished, bright, nice balcony.

SpainThere was some confusion on arrival about which building we had booked. I would suggest changing the name 'classic' to 'modern' as then it is easier to distinguish between the two. I assumed on booking that 'classic' would be the traditional building, but that is called 'historic'. Reading other comments, it seems I am not the only one to have made this mistake. There were cups in the room, but no kettle. We asked for one from reception and they brought it to us, but wouldn't it be easier to just put kettles in all of the rooms?
The room was modern and spacious with very comfy beds. Staff were nice and arranged a takeaway breakfast for us on departure as we had to leave for an early flight. The location is excellent for exploring the old town.

United KingdomWe requested two single beds but had to pull them apart ourselves. The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn’t working and the air conditioning unit was so dusty we decided not to switch it on. There is a minibar and fridge in the room but no tea/coffee making facilities
We mainly choose this hotel due to its location which is excellent. Located in the old town, it is ideal for sightseeing and restaurants/bars. However, despite being on the fifth floor and having double glazing, we could hear music from local bars well after midnight so one to avoid if you are particularly sensitive to sound. Public transport is a short walk away. The hotel has an old and quirky elevator we loved. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of food and drinks but don’t expect freshly squeezed orange juice as these prices. 24 hour reception provides peace of mind.

United KingdomThere was mould in the shower and the shower doors were broken so fell off their rollers. The decor in the room was dated, the paintwork chipped, the floors had thick dust around the edges, there were cobwebs on the curtain pole and the curtain was hanging off the pole and was dirty and snagged. The staff on the restaurant didn't seem very happy.
Great location close to the centre of town. There was a good spread at breakfast. Check out was relatively late, at 12pm.

SwitzerlandJust one tiny thing - the lift in the side building. The weight limit is low so there's no change to get in two people and their suitcases. But that's not a big deal - just go in there one by one.
The hotel is in the old town city centre and close by to all the important tourist attractions and great restaurants. Our rooms were in the side building - well equipped. Breakfast was great and scrumptious. We loved the bread and the coffee - finally a tasty coffee after almost two weeks of travelling. Reception is open 24/7 and there's an old-fashioned lift ... I can recommend to use it, even if the breakfast is only one floor upstairs. Right next to the side building is a bar I need to recommend. It's the "Labor bar" - the decor is based on a laboratory. The shots come in test tubes and the drinks in 600mL beaker and some of them are glowing in black light. Just go there and check it out.
