Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Dominican RepublicNot a lot of choices (not only the food, but entertainment too, just 1 pool, no music) small and very quiet and limited for the people staying that's not part of the "Viva club". Room had just 1 power outlet in the bathroom and 1 outside (even though it had 2 usb outlets too, none of them were working). They REALLY need to get better bartenders! (And maybe better drink choices too)
Food was good in general, liked the room space, staff was polite.

United StatesHave better wifi, AC and working fridge. Rooms really need an update along with maybe a sitting place in the room. Only one wicker chair in the room besides the bed.
Room Ac, didn’t work that great. Cell service and Wifi very limited with it going on and off. The rooms to me had mold issues. We had to switch rooms when arriving. First room was very warm with the AC barely working. Second room AC worked ok but fridge kept drinks like warm. Mentioned it a few times no changes. Food was good at the Buffet. Could have used more servers for the outside bar. People were friendly, pool and beach were nice.

United KingdomThe food wasn't good. I'm French so I do have *some* expectations, and they clearly weren't met. Most of it tasted weird, from the veggies to the meat. I ended up eating pizzas for lunch every day and asking for an omelet for breakfast. The rest was passable at best which was really disappointing. The restaurants open at night were significantly better. We tried to book in as much as possible but because the hotel had low occupancy only one was open every night, which we only learned when arriving. Also, most of the front desk staff was SO grumpy, we had to laugh it off. We didn't know what was going on most days as the schedule wasn't visible in the hotel — apparently there is an app but the point of this holiday was to not be on our phone.
Great infrastructure, the hotel opens on the most perfect Caribean beach. It wasn't crowded, which meant no fighting for space around the pool or the beach. Room was comfortable, with daily cleaning.

Everything. I loved the dancers and every show they did. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly with me and my family.

CanadaThe staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there, everyone at the front desks seemed annoyed by our questions. The buffet breakfast was horrible, truly the worst I've ever had.
The location is beautiful, gorgeous beach, and close to Las Terrenas. The space is very relaxing.

United StatesI felt like I was being sold the Viva club membership non-stop. It was our vacation and I just wanted to relax and not be hassled about going to investment meetings. The other issue was the Viva expeditions. We bought 2 expeditions and their ongoing promotion in the hotel was buy 2 get 1 free. However, when we inquired about the free one we were told this offer had expired. Yet, throughout our 5 day stay the promotion remained in the lobby TVs and bar signs. I felt this was unprofessional. The trips themselves (salto de limon and Los Haitises) were great. But limited time in the actual attractions so you could spend more time around vendors.
This is my second time in an all-inclusive hotel. This hotel definitely has an amazing buffet and 3 restaurants that had pretty decent food options (and it gives you a great excuse to dress up on date night). The alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks were great. The day/night time entertainment was excellent (even under rainy conditions). Rooms are spacious and with working AC. Everyone was nice.

FranceThe buffet could have been a bit more diversified. Also, the rooms were very damp, but that’s not that’s easily fixable given the local climate.

NetherlandsThe staff will approach you sneakily inviting you to an special breakfast and it turns out to be a commercial session in which they intend to sell you time-sharing memberships. Not nice to spend precious time of your holiday listening to a sales guy
The size of the hotel is ideal! not too bigso you dont need to walk long to the beach, restaurants, etc.

United StatesFood mainly.
The beach was beautiful. The room was very good I would have given excellent but the tv needs to be updated a little. The pool in the back was nice but could have used some trimming of the palm trees to have more light come into the back. The food was not very good, mind you I am a foodie. The food was bland, lacked seasoning. I understand you have to cater to all different people from different nations. A little more of the island food should be on the menu. The staff needs a little more coordination when serving food and attending to the customers. Several times we went to the buffet and was asked by staff what we would like to drink, we would tell them and they would forgot. That happened the entire time there. Overall I know they are hard working and very good people, but a little more attention to detail goes along way. Overall I was content with the stay. I was able to enjoy some needed break from the hustle and bustle of New York. It got be back to the gym. The gym staff was excellent by the way. Thank you for the experience. I would still recommend the resort to others.

LithuaniaFirst few rooms were very damp (sheets wet from humidity). Last room had no working a/c and was +27, but at least not damp. It takes too much time to get food in restaurants, I cannot wait 2h everytime just to have a meal
Beautiful beach, good waves and inventory for watersports, good coctails, very good buffet, fresh and tasty pineapples

El SalvadorWouldn´t recommend the tours offered by the hotel, we got no warnings on the bad weather and it was overall not worth it, just stay at the hotel.
Good place for a getaway, the pool is great and next to the beautiful beach. The room was perfect with a good view and a great bed. The food was the best we tried in the DR.

United StatesThe bacon was never good. It was either burnt or raw. Most of the hot foods were only warm. The food was bland. The fruit wasn't ripe. Portions at the restaurants were very small.
The resort was very nice. It was new and clean. There were not enough towel racks to hang up towles to dry.

GermanyThe a la carte restaurants were a bit slow sometimes (which isn’t really an issue given you’re on vacation). The show by the animation team leaned a little but too much into outdated “traditional” gender roles for my liking but they were otherwise very talented.
Stunning location right on a beautiful beach. There is not much development nearby so you can go on long walks along the beach by the palm trees and enjoy. The sea has some waves which is wonderful and fun and you can borrow boogie boards and stand up paddles for free. The location is also great to explore the Samana peninsula. We rented a car and that was very helpful to go to the nearby waterfall hike for instance but it can be done through the hotel too. The drinks and cocktails are delicious and made with decent ingredients (eg you can order Aperol). Staff are attentive and friendly. The rooms and facilities are from a few years ago but well maintained and very clean. Food was good - buffet-style breakfast and choice of buffet or a la carte for dinner. Animation is light so you can avoid it if you don’t feel like it but have the option to join in for some sports or music in the evening. The hotel also attracted pleasant guests (no overloading and excessive wastefulness or obnoxiousness by the buffet for instance) and generally a lovely vacation atmosphere!

Netherlands- Our shower could not get hot. - We were there only for 2 nights. You have to book your restaurant in the evening in advance, but the seafood restaurant was already fully booked for the nights that we were there, so we did not get the chance to eat there. - With incheck at 3 our room was not ready. Staff did not tell us, but ignored us when we asked for the key. After ignoring us for 20 minutes and us insisting, they finally told us that the room was not ready. (Which was fine, but please don’t solve problems by ignoring guests.)
Very pretty location. Good food. Enough choice in food and drinks.
