Arrived at night at 10pm. The neighborhood is not secure then to walk by yourself. The room I got was a regular room (room 206); not a studio like I reserved. There was water from the fridge on the ground. The water to shower was not warm. I stayed here for the first time because I needed to go for a meeting at Caribe Express nearby. Doubt that I will stay here again. The pictures of the room online are not reflecting the reality. The room did not give a full clean impression.

Super small rooms

It is good for transient stays and nothing else. Not for leisure or anything else. If you need a basic overnight stay in Santo Domingo near the bus station, this is for you.

The breakfast was basic, eggs and toast. More variety would have been ideal. There was a fragrance either the air freshener or the wood treatment used on the wooden surfaces including the table, the bed head, the closet and desk, that we just could not get accustomed too. The fragrance was just not welcoming and same was brought to the attention of the front desk staff. The jacuzzi on the top floor was not heated. Some of the snacks and drinks like water, could have been complimentary.

The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and spoke English, especially Wesley. Check-in was exceptionally smooth, and he gave us a detailed tour of our accommodation. I love the decor and ambience. Very natural and afro-centric theme with superb lighting. The third floor provides a nice view of the Santo Domingo city. There's a nice restaurant close by, less than 1 minute walking distance. The hotel also boast a coffee shop on the ground floor. Love the swipe entry feature on doors. Room was equipped with snacks and drinks, but you have to pay for them.

You can hear the sounds from the other rooms. Rooms are really small - really just for sleeping.

It is conveniently located at the center of the city, beside CaribeTours bus station, with some restaurants around. The hotel is a good option for quick layovers as it is a very basic accommodation facility. Nicely appointed rooms but quite too small. They have parking slots!

The soap in the bathroom was 70% water and the other 30% was real soap and the toilet lid didn’t stay up and was very uncomfortable.

Everything was extra! Even water they wanted to charge me 10x the price. 4 USD for a bottle of water that costs .20 USD. I replaced the water I drank and they were penny pinching. No coffee anywhere so I paid 5 usd for a small small cup of coffee in the morning instead of them offering to bring me some. The breakfast was on the roof but it's 4 stories up and I had a hurt foot so I couldn't climb up all those stairs. They saw me limping around and no one offered to bring me food or coffee.

The WiFi didn't pick in my room,the ceiling need fix because some drip from the paint on my clothes and on the floor and also the ceiling was leaking.

The worst for me was the lack of cleaning services during my stay. The hotel is clean but there was no cleaning services during the 4 days I stayed. The room had a humid smell after all those days. Additionally, the breakfast is served too late at 8am and even some minutes after that. One day I couldn't take breakfast because at 8.30 there was no food yet.

The best of the hotel is the staff. They are very kind, especially the staff in the terrace. Nicole was amazing. The location is convenient, especially if you're going to be around the city centre. The price is very competitive.

Bathroom sinks and showers tend to be small

The breakfast was great. They had some fruits and cereals added. The coffee didn’t taste like authentic Dominican coffee but it was okay. The staff was really nice!! Wiltho is multilingual and very fluent.

There was no sound proofing around the door so there was little privacy. This seemed to be a problem for everyone. More staff at breakfast would be useful, there was one girl trying to do everything whilst two or three male staff members hung around reception. I left a tip for the cleaner, which the manager took. I noticed this when I returned to the room after forgetting something and he'd checked the minibar. The internet didn't work the entire stay and the staff didn't respond with any solutions. The door battery was running low, the receptionist said he'd replace it but didn't.

The room was quite nicely designed and the water was hot.

The hotel takes Paypal as payment. I wasn't aware of this - it's not mentioned on their website or on booking.com. I haven't used Paypal in years, and could not get it to work with my new cards. They were trying to 2fa me on my Canadian phone number, which didn't have service in the DR. It was very frustrating.

The hotel is a rather old building that has been repurposed. It is quite charming. Because of the age, the doorways are a bit short, under 2 meters - about 6 feet. The staff were very nice.

Some irresponsibility from staff, jacuzzi didnt work, they offer some activities, they confirm activities and when you are in hotel they said activities are not possible to do when I comfirmed them 3 weeks before.😒

I left very early in the morning 4 am and there was no possibility to have some breakfast in a bag (lunchpack) because the kitchen was already closed when I came in!
