Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyOnly 1 English speaking TV channel in the room - News. The Spa and Pool areas was out of service during our stay. The staff casually said: "sorry". We paid a lot of money and we specifically aimed to visit the pool. It wasn't nice.
We stayed in Commodore class, we had Wi-Fi access, very good breakfast, nice room. In general, we liked the tirp a lot. Especially it was great to walk and sit at the deck in the sunny weather.

United KingdomI thought the food at the Italian was not good value for money. The cost of water in the restaurants was expensive if travelling as a family.
We had a lovely stay on the Ferry. Cabins were better than expected, simple but clean.

United KingdomStaff were a bit surly. Not all of them, but maybe they were at the end of their 2 weeks of shifts and exhausted. Also, paying for drinking water seems excessive on top of having to pay top dollar for everything else on board. Some water fountains would really help manage hydration and expenses. Or at least charge for water at cost, not adding the huge percentage mark up costs on an essential item.
The ship was lovely and it felt spacious even though there were lots of people on board. The food in Explorer restaurant was really tasty. The room was bigger than expected (maybe cramped if we were 4 in it), but it was comfortable and clean.

United KingdomAll was well
Liked everything about the cruise. The friendliness of people on board, the comfort, the views from the desk, the hot water jacuzzi on the deck (the pool water was cold), the evening entertainment, the opportunity for a quiet moment with a drink on deck or even in the night club, the guitarist playing powerfully in one of the cafes, the overpriced but well equipted and friendly duty free shop and the tiny little cabin with a view of the sea from the window, everything for perfect. What I would do differently is book a larger cabin if I go on a longer cruise. This was prefect for a two nights cruise.

BulgariaThe ship will benefit from more channels and language options on the TV - all channels were in local language and considering there was no WiFi, having programs to watch in English will help. Also, the food options were a little pricey for what they were, considering the food cost adds up to 3x the price of the journey itself.
The trip was very interesting and it is definitely awesome value for money. The ship has sufficient ammenities and the room was clean and comfortable.

Netherlandsnothing to the hotel or DFDS but Booking messed up the starting time of check in, thus completely messed up our plan, please keep in mind that the check in time on Booking website is incorrect. According to DFDS, it is Booking which is unwilling to communicate, so Booking we are looking at what you will explain or improve :)
The price is quite cheap, although quality is great. We have been in similar ferry from Greece which was horrible. Danish surely show their high standard for everything. Also it is great option if you want to have a short stay in Oslo as well. The buffet dinner is great, the breakfast is just so so. It also has quite some options for kids as well like video gaming and bubble zone. The staff are nice and friendly.

RomaniaRooms: bunk beds were not easy to climb and AC was not clean enough, so we got up with running nose and allergies. Food: quality is poor compared to the prices. Staff: observant and responsive when approached, but not really focused on customer experience. Card payment was not always working properly.
The overall experience was good.

BulgariaThe only downside is the restaurants on board are very expensive & so is the duty-free supermarket.
I'm very pleased with this ship -- cabin's just big enough, self check in takes less than 2 min., clean bedsheets as well as soft pillows (hotel pillows are usually very hard & hurt my neck & ears), no noise only the occasional water splashing sound but that's rather soothing to me. This is a great way to explore both Copenhagen & Oslo!
