Nice hotel in former castle/convent for very affordable price, very clean and new. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. Apples from the garden. Nice environments - I enjoyed a run in surrounding forested hills with lakes and small deep valleys. You can hike or bike to Augustusburg (Bruehl) and Falkenlust - 3-4 km

More suitable for travellers by car - the street from the tram station up to the hotel had no sidewalks, which was arduous with my luggage.

Beautiful interiors and garden, and comfortable bed. Free coffee in the room and warm snacks available. Deep woods and a lake with clear water (bathing possible) in walking distance.

Rooms are quite outdated with red carpet on the floor and room had two single beds serving as a double, quite annoying. Shower cabin is also quite small and the tvs don’t have streaming functionality.

For me personally, I didn't like the beds as they were a bit warm for my taste. Now, it was also 26 degrees while we were there and there is no airco, but this is not a big issue most of the year.

They had a short of staff at the moment we were there. But when I asked for new towels, a friendly woman brought them very quickly. I understand these things happens, but my advice would be to announce this at the check in. And the lock of the door of the room was not working properly. It was a bit of a hassle to get it closed.

The room was big. It was nice to have a separate bedroom. The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was good and everything you want to eat was available. Although there was no diner possible, there was something to eat free of charge. This was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly. And the free local products like apples were a nice bonus. As were visiting this hotel mainly for the visit of PhantasiaLand, it was very close to the highway and the park. Very convenient!

There was no notice to inform guests that room cleaning and towel replacement required guests to place a notice on the door.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a lovely location. Great breakfast options. Free bottles of water (still and sparkling water). A really nice touch was the free supply of apples, pears and walnuts from the cloister garden.

The hotel is an old castle that once was lived in by monks. It has lots of charm, and has been decorated and refurbished to a high standard. The room was spotless, the bathroom was spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here.

Not much food option in town for dinner the night we stayed and no option of dinner in the hotel. We did find a good pizza and pasta place but it was a takeaway with one table inside, delicious though! They did put out cake/croissant type snacks, fruit and coffee etc for whenever you liked in the hotel. There was also an honesty book and a fridge full of beer and drinks which was super!

Great hotel for an overnight on route to Phantasialand after a very long drive from Calais (literally about a mile away!) Very welcoming and room had everything we needed for one night in a lovely setting! Friendly and helpful check in!

Despite putting up the sign to clean the room, it was unfortunately not cleaned upon our return in the evening. Problem was that we were out of soap, so really need the room to be “cleaned”. But one call (reception was closed) fixed our issue, as someone appeared and gave us the soap 😊.

Close to Phantasialand Excellent breakfast with a good selection of warm and cold dishes to choose from. Free water is a plus Peaceful and quiet surroundings

We arrived at the hotel from a 3 hours drive when we arrive, there were some food that was available in the reception area. The staff are nice and location is clean with a lot of trees and plants that looks refreshing.

The floor of the shower cubicle is very slippery, be careful. Our showerhead was leaky but it's a shower and it still worked.

The location is perfect, very quiet yet close to Phantasialand. The rooms were nice and clean, there was a free dinner snack buffet, and a really nice breakfast. We only stayed one night and it was perfect. It's also really impressive how well everything has been restored after the hotel lost so much of its infrastructure and furniture from a major storm in 2021. My parents thought their pillows were too soft but if you need anything, ask the very kind staff! They are really happy to assist and made us feel like our experience truly mattered.
