The decor.

The food was excellent. The hotel is off the beaten track in a quiet village. The view from the restaurant balcony, where we are our meal, was stunning. The room was a little old fashioned but adequate for one night stop over whilst travelling.

We stayed for just one night arriving late and left early to continue our voyage. We slept okay (bed was hard and duvets thin for German/ Bayer standards). The dog slept on his dogbed. And here comes our disappointment: we paid 15EUR for our dog (which is okay) but we ALSO had to pay 15 EUR for extra cleaning expenses considering the dog. Strange! Cleaning fees are already included in the roomfee and on top of this we stayed only just some hours in the room to sleep. And there is no such thing mentioned on the this website!

It is a beautiful location just at the start of the woods and with views on the mountains. Perfect to walk the small dog which travelled with us. Breakfast was simple but fine. Bathroom spacious. Building has charm.

I missed the Ruhetage note, and therefore was unable to visit the Alpenhof Restaurant, one of the main reasons for booking this Hotel. Make sure to visit when the Restaurant is open to take full advantage of the food and view to the mountain range.

Certainly it is always all about the location. The Alpenhof has a gorgeous view over the mountains, is easy to reach from the A8 highway. Centrally located to go hiking at Marquartstein or bathing at the Chiemsee.

Only 1 person was speaking English, the owner who is also the chef of the restaurant, so communication was very difficult for us who do not speak German, but English! The entrance is always closed so please be aware of this and call the location before you arrive. The breakfast could be improved, you do not have many choices.. I consider it being very poor, having in mind other locations that we have visited. Dinner is served until latest 20:00 PM.. it could be a pity for the young people who have dinner later..

The location was great, we could see the mountains from the window of our room; it is very close to lake Chiemsee, less than 10 min driving. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom as well.

for us everything was great . we were able to relax and chat with the super friendly staff. close to the lake by car. the beach part was also nice and not too crazy.

I didn't realize the location was so far from anything, I should have reviewed a map better; no restaurant anywhere near the hotel and the hotel restaurant was closed that night; No bus service near by either

There were many stairs in the hotel which is problematic with a disability. I would not recommend the hotel for people with leg problems.

The price is too expensive for this kind of service but we booked it only because it was the only room available on this day. We also didn't expect much from the room but it could be better if they had a small fridge at least. The door from the entrance into the hotel was locked in the middle of the day when we came, so we didn't actually have a welcoming first impression. We had to ring on the bell and repeat more than three times our names. They don't have the reception so it was a bit confuzing.

The food was excellent, eventhough there coud be more choice on breakfast. The cook is great. The room was specious and exactly like on the pictures. We actually didn't expect much.

A lovely family run small hotel in a beautiful peaceful setting. The food was excellent and amongst the best we enjoyed on our tour round Germany. The hosts and staff were very friendly and we had a fun evening in the restaurant.

There is nothing we didn’t like. We were given all the information we needed about extra dog fees, restaurant recommendations for when the restaurant is closed and parking options to make the whole trip very comfortable.

Communication was wonderful; we appreciated the phone call and message letting us know the check-in process and dinner options when the restaurant is closed. Our dog friendly room was very spacious and easy to access. Quiet with nice from from the balcony. We enjoyed the church and farms surrounding the guesthouse as well.
