Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe parking area is shared by a small supermarket and didn't feel particularly safe for a motorcycle. The room was fairly basic but clean. The host was a lovely guy and the restaurant was excellent.

NetherlandsWhen we stayed here for the first time, the water in the shower was cold, we had to turn the temperature to maximum, not to freeze; the second time, in another room the water was so hot that we had to do exactly the opposite. The bed has this uncomfortable gap in between the mattresses
Parking right in front of the entrance (many hotels in Bielefeld do not have private parking at all), convenient check-in and check-out time so you don't have to hurry. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel - it is always quiet, cozy and clean, the stuff is friendly

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was available. We were able to park with a roof box on the car. It was a short walk from the old town. Bielefeld is not a top tourist destination but if you need to be there, this is a good place to stay.

BelgiumThere is no connection between the hotel and restaurant - you have to go outside and the length of the two buildings - but no problem as long as it is not raining , ts only 100 m or so. Hotel does not accept debit cards, only credit cards which are not issued automatically by our banks. Owner apparently doesn’t agree with banks charging him a fee for transactions. He is of course entitled to feel this way.
The exterior of the building belies the interior. It seems to be a bit of a dull former industrial building in a less than attractive commercial area, however inside the hotel the rooms are lovely, bright, super-clean and modern. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel with a tree shaded external patio where we enjoyed a delicious evening meal on a quiet Sunday evening. Breakfast was in the indoor part of the restaurant and was reasonable. There is ample free parking right next to the hotel entrance which is very convenient. Town centre is in walking distance and we had intended to do that walk, but somehow after supper and a delicious draught German beer at the restaurant we no longer felt like it. Next day however we drove to the Sparrenberg Castle and enjoyed a lovely walk round it with view of the town, and a coffee on the Castle cafe terrace and then a further walk around the meticulously kept and beautifully laid out Botanic Gardens here which are surprisingly free to visit. Bielefeld is not on the main tourist route, but we enjoyed our day here very much - chosen because it was a Monday when it seems all German museums are shut but these two sights were not.

NetherlandsStaff didn't speak a word of English, which made communication a tad more difficult. (Though it worked out in the end.) Also, roomservice came in without warning while we were still in bed.
Pretty big room with a modern en suite bathroom. Bed was comfortable and clean. Location was fine and quiet.

IrelandThe location is within walking distance of a lot of things. There are not a lot of cafés etc in the immediate area, so if you want coffee and a pastry you will need to use the store behind the hotel.
The staff were great and the room was clean and very comfortable. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere affordable and clean. The hotel restaurant was excellent.

UkraineWill stay on the way back, nothing to dislike.
We were travelling from Poland to France and decided to stay in this hotel for a night, so no huge expectations. However, the hotel turned out to be really good, very helpful and nice personnel, one of the comfiest beds I ever slept on at the hotel (even took a picture of a matrass). The room was quite big, the shower is great, 2 bottles of beer as a welcome drink. Also, free parking lot was on point for us since we were travelling by car. Additionally, we had a dinner at a hotel's restaurant and they served reaaaally good steaks, don't miss out to try.

Small hotel/ few rooms. Personable service, once you spend a little with the lovable owner. Easy parking. Nice, sizable, clean rooms. Very safe area ( close to Police HQ. Nice old, converted brick building, etc. Will certainly try to come back…

GermanyMy room was the farthest from the entrance and the WiFi reception was really bad. This was quite annoying as I needed to use internet for work. In addition, check out was a nightmare. Beside the fact that the restaurant where the check out has to be done closed before the time I was told, I left my billing information when I arrived with the agreement that I would have the bill ready at the time of payment. Obviously, this was not done and I had to waste a lot of time to pay making me late for a business appointment.

DenmarkWe chose this hotel specifically because Booking.com showed us that there was a restaurant with dinner and breakfast. When we arrived after 11 hours of driving, we were told that the restaurant was closed and there was a 15 minutes walk to the center where we could find something to eat. Also, there was no breakfast, which meant that we had to go to the local supermarket (where the coffee machine was broken) to get a couple of buns to eat on the go. Also, many other places are cheaper and includes breakfast.
The room was clean, and the windows shielded from the noise from the road.

NigeriaThe rooms are extremely too close to the street such that it is very noisy when the window is opened. The noise of people walking past and cars in the street make it uncomfortable. Moreso someone can easily jump into the rooms on the ground floor or even wound someone inside when the window is open.
Very much liked the nearness to a grocery shop. Also it is not far from the train station. It’s within a walking distance
