Beautiful location in the black forest

Road noise , no off street parking , not handy for motorcycles . The man seemed a bit irritated when we arrived 10 past 7 . We had planned to arrive hours earlier but on the journey was a terrible accident and we got stuck on the highway behind a big accident . Then the man seemed a bit grumpy because we were 10 minutes late .

Good breakfast , nice room , free on street parking .

Really nothing I disliked, would have been nice to have a few extra pillows. I didn’t ask the next day but I suspect if I asked I would have gotten some.

The size of the room, the location, the staff, and the breakfast was great variety of food.

Very good hotel but I should have booked room on a lower level but none available at the time of my booking. Not the hotels fault!

Bed needs an upgrade and a real structural fix. The breakfast was mediocre at best, unfortunately I would not recommend it.

Location is superb, the room was spacious, clean, with all we needed plus a free mininbar. The room heating is great specially for us that travelled with a small baby and the balcony view was enjoyable too.

The view from the room was a disappointment.

Breakfast and friendliness of the staff made the place look very inviting. Ease of parking and good weather all year round seems to be the drawing factor here.

Rooms relatively basic and bathrooms cramped. Smell of cigarette smoke in corridors. Pillows very uncomfortable! Overall though we would thoroughly recommend.

Good location in upper village close to small supermarket, bakery, restaurants. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Quiet despite being close to a main road. Ten minute walk from station. Lovely town. Lots of well marked, well maintained walks. Everyone very friendly in restaurants, tourist information etc. Free public transport included in stay. Free minibar in rooms replenished daily.

The Wifi in the room was very poor. Extremely difficult to get a connection. The view from our room was not what we expected. On the website it looked great, but the reality was very different. Parking was very inconvenient. Poor lightening in bathroom.

I highly recommend staying at Hotel Petra. We really enjoyed the homely atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. We felt looked after by Robert who was always on hand to help with any requests whether it be to borrow an umbrella, recommend a restaurant or to book a taxi. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice for everyone.

The pillows were too thin. The bathroom did not have good exhaust that it left the space stinky. The receptionist was not well informed or did not have solid recommendations of places to have a good black forest cake dessert. The hotel did not accommodate enough parking spots for guests who stayed in the hotel. Receptionist only suggested to park our car at a nearby grocery store when 5 parking spots were filled. The breakfast buffet was cold and mediocre. There is not working wi-fi.

The hotel is a little bit of a distance from the town itself and the train station, so it was quite a task to walk up the hills with all the luggage and our dog. (Sadly the bus service of Baiersbronn is completely unreliable and the schedules are confusing and inaccurate.) The pillows in our room aren't the greatest so in contrast to the amazing mattresses, these weren't very comfortable. The shower is quite narrow so a bit difficult to navigate, but it gets the job done anyways.

What a lovely hotel, such value for money! The breakfast was good, had a fair variety to choose from and had good coffee. The manager was always helpful and friendly and the room was perfect. I absolutely loved the mattresses which were firm and offered good support. There are great views of the mountain and a short distance walk and one reaches the forest hiking trails. We traveled with our dog and she was completely welcome in the room and the breakfast area. She loved the walks in the mountains as well and had a very comfortable stay :)

The hotel was fully booked, so the small parking was not adequate and we had to park in the local supermarket car park.

Baiersbronn is a very spread-out village, so it's difficult to be 'central'. Having said that, there is a bakery/café close by, another one within a short drive, and a couple of restaurants. It is in a quiet residential location. Room was fine - bathroom a bit dark, and small, but efficient otherwise. Baiersbronn would in theory be a great place to stay for the Black Forest, when there are no roadworks completely cutting off the main road to Freudenstadt, and a classic car rally closing the main road out to Strasbourg - worth checking the events calendar!

The staff at hotel Petra were extremely welcoming and it was clear that nothing was too much trouble. They had thought about extra things such as the mini bar and slippers in the room. We purchased breakfast and it was great. There was lots of offer and we were given fresh coffee whenever our cups were empty! The beds were super comfy and we had a great nights sleep!

A little noise from the road as main road was closed

The friendly welcoming staff. They spoke fluent English and couldn't be more helpful. We were fairly central within walking distance of both cafe and restaurants.
