Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was pretty hot. There were two windows which weren’t working properly. But we were asked for comments when we checked out and this was taken on board. We were also told that it is planned to install air con.
Great location in centre of town. We had the deluxe room which was a good size and had excellent storage. Nice touch to have carafe of water refreshed every day. The breakfast was excellent. Super to have eggs freshly cooked. Two female staff members who looked after us during our stay were excellent. Friendly and very efficient. There is no lift and we were very impressed that one of them insisted on carrying our, not light, cases upstairs.

GermanyHaving to lug my suitcase downstairs to check in and then back up the stairs to my room was difficult. The bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable. I think it would be nice to let people know they can park just one minute away in the Altstadt Parkhaus for 5 euros per day as the hotel parking was something like 12 euros per day.
The location was very close to downtown. The breakfast was delicious and there were high-quality healthy options. The room was clean and had everything I needed.

United StatesThe day was cool and rainy, but our hearts were warmed by the young couple we met as we got off the train at Altstadt Oberursel. With no cell or internet, my email from the hotel saying that “we are only a three-minute walk from the underground; it couldn’t be easier!” wasn’t much help. The cheerful young pair did better than point us in the right direction; they walked us to our hotel. (Which could definitely not be seen from the train stop.) It was, as booking.com had promised, “perfect for a one-night stay.” Very cozy very clean room, but no lift...
The room was cozy and very clean. The bathroom and shower were excellent. The made-for-me breakfast omelette was a special treat, beautifully served.

BelgiumNo elevator - so not great if injured or sore from a workout.
The room was clean, comfortable and able to move to full darkness (window rolladen). There was parking directly across from the hotel - though on the street. There is also plenty of metered parking available.

SpainThe rooms are a bit small - fine if you just want to stay overnight. No elevator and the reception in the basement is sub-optimal if you have luggage, but it will be changed soon. No aircon, but management is working on it.
Great location in the center of Oberursel, very nice staff, clean rooms, everything fine. Breakfast is fine. If back in town, I would book this hotel again.

United StatesThere is no elevator. Luckily I was on level 1 and someone helped me with my luggage, but others were not so lucky.
The room was decent. The hotel was close to the trains and busses and there were plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.

SpainStairs. Lots of stairs. For anyone with mobility issues or the elderly or small children or big suitcases, please know there is no lift. My parents are in their seventies and were flying back to the US with large bags so it was a bit uncomfortable for them. The bed while comfortable didn't have a mattress pad, just a fitted sheet. There was some noise on the street so I had to shut the previously mentioned excellent windows. The room got quite warm, no ac, and only a thick duvet which was a bit too hot.
The hotel had an unbeatable location in downtown Oberusel, just outside of Frankfurt. Located very close to the pedestrian main street and plaza with loads of restaurants and shops. The hotel is very close to the tram stop so easy to use public transportation. That said parking spaces were plentiful so driving is not a problem. The place was immaculate. The room was super clean and everything looked new. Good quality double-glazed windows blocked any noise from the street. The padded headboard blocked noise from the other guests. Nice shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomAs mentioned in a friendly discussion with the manager, the Nespresso machine in the bedroom will be welcomed by some visitors but we would have preferred to be able to make a cup of tea. It might be a good idea to make it clearer that there is no lift. The description in Booking.com states that there is no lift to gain access to the upper floors, but the reception/breakfast room is in the basement, so all visitors need to be able to manage stairs, even those who are staying on the ground floor.
A beautifully styled hotel in an excellent location. Comfortable beds and well-designed bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff and an excellent breakfast.

United KingdomHot, no air conditioning available. Luckily on the top floor we could close the shutter and leave the windows wide open. Not enough hooks in bathroom, no coat hangers and no storage space for contents of suitcase.
