Very minor points. A quiet area but bin lorry turns up shortly after 7 - not a fault of the hotel. Coffee machine in breakfast room was slow. had to pay extra for cappucino from barrista (didn't know that until after we received the drinks). Suggest a new machine is needed, or we shouldn't have to pay extra. Again a minor point, but overall an excellent hotel and will book again

Very nice room in a quiet area, but close to centre and within 3 minute walk of U5 train which goes across the city. Excellent breakfast. the hotel seemed very quiet while we were there. very friendly staff.

Superb service from front-desk staff. The hotel is a bit confusing to find by car, and when I got lost in the warren of nearby lanes, he came to find me and gave me instructions about how to reach the hotel. My room was large and well equipped. The location is superb, near the new Stadtschloss, Alexanderplatz, the TV tower, the Cathedral; several good restaurants very nearby, and within walking distance of Gendarmenmarkt and its restaurants.

Hotel Nikolai Residence was in a very central location, it didn't feel like a huge hotel but it had all the conveniences of one and was freshly renovated. The view onto the iconic radio tower and the Rathaus clock reminded us we were in Berlin but it was a quiet and very pleasant room. The artwork in the halls was an added bonus.

I was fully aware that I was booking a room in a hotel in a very nice district. However, I didn't expect the superior service, very attentive and caring personnel, and a nice, clean room with a quiet, green yard outside the window. We found all of that in this hotel! We arrived by car and used the hotel's parking, which was easy, safe, and not too expensive. There are quite a few good restaurants nearby, making the hotel a perfect starting point for sightseeing (for example, Museum Island is just a 5-minute walk away).

Frank at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We arrived a little early, but he checked us in and gave us the room keys. He also gave us a map and marked bus stops and some other interesting stuff. The room was the size of most rooms in hotels in big cities, but the bathroom was pretty big with a full size shower. The beds were comfortable. We were on the first floor (floor above the ground floor) overlooking the courtyard, but there was a roof below us, so we had privacy. We opened the windows when it got a little warm and it cooled off the room. Location was great, we arrived at Alexanderplatz station by FEX from the airport and walked the half mile there. Bus stops are also very close. Grocery store Netto is a couple of blocks away and very good.

We arrived late at night and the communication and instructions we received about how to get in and get our key was thoughtful and timely. Also, after a hectic travel day we were delighted to see the mini bar offerings. The location was perfect as we were only spending a few days in Berlin and were able to walk to several attractions, and just generally enjoy the vibe of Berlin's downtown. There were many cafes, shops, bistros and restaurants nearby, as well and the river and parks. Loved our stay.

Two small items open to imprvement: The cushions are not the finest. And in the breakfast area, the coffee machine produces excellent coffee. But if too crowded during breakfast, the machine is too slow, you need either two or another machine.

The location is perfect, almost all major interesting spots you like to visit are within walking distance. The small Nikolai neighbourhood is very charming, quiet and planty of bars and restaurants. On top the hotel has everything you need, good beds, perfect berakfast, nice staff. And it is clea it has been fully restored quite recently, spotless clean, everything is functioning perfect. We would recommend this property to anyone.

Well situated for the central Berlin attractions. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Room was very clean and comfortable with a very 'new' feel. Large en-suite toilet and shower room which again was spotless - in fact the whole hotel was spotless. Breakfast was good and well stocked each morning. Very easy electronic door entry with high quality doors.
