Good location in very pleasant surrounding countryside, within easy reach of the Autobahn . Good breakfast, friendly staff and an interesting history to the building. They also serve some excellent local beer.

[Not connected with this establishment:] Avoid Dubrovnik restaurant in the nearby town: we have waited 1h20min for our dinner, served eventually without a single apology(!) - an all time record in our long travelling history :)

Well run family business with a very good service and attention to detail. Comfortable room with balcony, surrounded by woodland. Very comfortable beds and quality bedding. Very nice hilly area nearby.

The hotel advertises a restaurant and bar on site. It is not a sit-in bar. You can request your drinks at reception and sit in your room or outside or in reception with your drink but there is no "bar area" or "bar staff". There is a restaurant area but unfortunately they only offer a choice of up to 9 pizzas each night. We thought being offered pizza when the restaurant was closed was a lovely touch when we arrived. We were excited to go and use the full restaurant the next night, only to find the choice was the same, just that we could sit in the restaurant this time. There are no other restaurants within walking distance, although some within a short drive so you can't share a bottle of wine over dinner as there is always a drive back.

The room was large with plenty of storage space and a balcony that overlooked trees, so the birdsong was amazing. The breakfast was well laid out with a good choice. The rooms are all themed and so each one is unique. When we arrived the restaurant was closed that day so they kindly offered to make a pizza and bring it to our bedroom. Very clean. I loved the decor and the quirkiness and the fact that spaces were filled with things to look at throughout the hotel.

Location is a bit off the city but it`s nice, free parking, all staff are extremely helpful and friendly thanks to Mr. Augusto, building looks like a historical castle which is gorgeous, clean in general. I personally come to Moorland everytime I am in Vlotho

Though the hotel is situated in a lovely spot, we found it a little out the way to where we wanted to be...driving wouldn't of been such a problem to get where we wanted to go had it not been such a long drive from Calais to Germany....saying that...it is a beautiful area...

You cannot keep the room key when you leave the hotel. If you come back after 22:30, you need to call a receptionist by mobile phone. However, mobile signal availabilty is not good there (especially Vodafone).

The hotel is nicely located in a silent area. As it is still rather close to the highway, it is a good place to stay overnight while traveling as well. Even though we arrived rather late, the owner was still present and very helpful.

Arrive late at night, and still owner came out to meet me and help to move in. I was asking for a late drink and got it👌🏻 Morning came with nice continental breakfast. All hotel is like a museum, it looks a bit like an English hotel , but where everything works and is nice and clean.

Parking is not the easiest if one arrives too late.

The hotel is based in a very nice landscape, perfect for walks after a long working day or just to relax. I did not use the special moor applications, but they will be very relaxing too.

more or less every thing. The hotel is outdated. No restaurant. plastic plants and plastic fruit all over. Spots on carpets, had the KRAÜTER ROOM. and was told about the fantastic smell from spices. The only thing what I could smell was the chlorin from the bathroom. Restaurant closed but they offered frozen pizza.... charge for 1 night stay was apx. 175 Euro. A real bad experience.

Very nice location, very kind people. I stayed only one night but i enjoyed that peaceful place. Its very clean and the bed was very comfortable. After driving 12 hours my body fully rested 👍🏻 A bit old fashioned but in a good way.

Saying that the hotel has a restaurant is an exaggeration. For dinner you can eat ready-made pizza and that's it. Below is a photo of breakfast (which we had to claim because they forgot about us). We were supposed to pay €80 + €10 for a dog and… finally we paid extra €10 for a ground floor room. We asked for such room and I have a feeling that it was just an opportunity to charge us extra. The room was no bigger/better than the one we ordered, and it wasn't on the ground floor, we had to climb a dozen or so stairs.
