Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe front desk seems to be occupied with the computer, and doesn’t care much about customers. On one occasion I asked for another bottle of water for the night. To my surprise, the front desk lady told me that she would bring it to my room. After 45 minutes, I got back to the front desk, the lady was gone. The gentleman went to the room behind his back, and brought the water. Also, WiFi and the phone connection is just horrible. I can’t believe that there’s no reliable internet in the hotel.

GermanyIt was a little confusing to find the toilet in the underground level. But thats not a really a minus point.
Friendly staff, great facilities, the room is gorgeous and the bathroom is amazing. The breakfast buffet is quite lovely, I loved the honey comb! I really enjoyed my stay there. Also it was barely possible to hear noises at night even though it was the museumuferfestival weekend. So, really recommended.

United KingdomWhile it was a lovely stay, given the nature of the building, it was quite an odd layout getting to different parts of the hotel, which I don't think would suit someone less mobility.
The room was beautifully decorated and well laid out with plenty of space. It was one of the nicest bathrooms in a hotel I've had in a while. There's clearly a lot of effort made with lovely design touches in the lobby seating area and downstairs bar as well as throughout the hotel.

United StatesWe thought it was a 5 minute walk from the main train station, but it was more like 15 minutes. We had several heavy bags so rolling them over the uneven pavement was a bit challenging. The simple solution was …… We took a taxi to the train station when we left! We had an early train. If we had had a later train, we probably would’ve walked back to the train station to get the exercise.
It was gorgeous, plenty of room, and the staff was very friendly!
