Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomRooms too expensive for offering shared bathrooms and difficult access to the hotel. The stairs - a climb to reception and another climb to the rooms - need to be fairly fit, especially with heavy luggage. No lift available. No kettles in rooms to make tea - - one member of staff objected to my use of the kitchen for boiling water. I didn't like having to hand back my key every time I left the hotel - - I paid for the room therefore I am entitled to have the key for the duration of my stay.
Didn't take up the offer of breakfast, due to the reviews. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Three of four staff allowed me access to the kitchen to make tea, as there were no kettles in rooms. Needed an unplanned extra night's stay, which was easily arranged.

France- not the warmest welcome I've seen - the bed mattress is not amazing - expensive for what it offers - it is super weird to have to give back the key each time you leave (reception is 24/7)
Not sure I understand the bad feedback for this hotel, because: - the shared toilets and shower were super clean - the room was clean - the room was quiet (but I had one on the garden side, it probably helped a lot!l - it is 2 minutes away from the train station For sure not the fanciest hotel by far, for sure it is in a train station neighborhood with all the weird population it comes with, but a nice hotel to spend a night while passing by Hambourg nonetheless.

You get what you pay for. Basic but clean, warm and comfortable. Very conveniently located, next to central train station and walking distance from the centre. Friendly staff who gave us recommendations for visiting the city.

GermanyShared toilet in the hallway was alright, although it didn’t have a sink, which kind surprised (and disgusted) me. That way you had to go back to your room to properly wash your hands. I also would have liked a coat rack or hanger on the door of the room, especially for bigger jackets in the colder time of year.
We had low expectations when we booked this hotel. We mainly chose it for its location near the main train station. It was alright for a night, I wouldn’t stay longer than that though. The beds were surprisingly comfy and the heater worked really well. Staff was friendly.
