Breakfast variety could be better.

Ultra convenient for train or bus travels. A short walk from the city center. I had a great corner room with lots of light and views. Room was clean and bathroom spotless.

Some minor points: (1) The air condition seemed to work but the temperature in the room was clearly higher than that on the display. (2) The water temperature in the shower was difficult to regulate. (3) Some people might find the mattress of the beds quite hard.

We have visited Mannheim several times during the last years, and have also stayed in this hotel before. The Intercity Hotel is located directly next to the main train station. The air-conditioned room was not facing the train station which meant that it was quieter than others. The room was clean and sufficiently spacious for two; this was also true for the bathroom. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of food and is fairly competitively priced at 19 EUR (I initially thought this was expensive but spent roughly 15 EUR on a smaller breakfast in a cafe in the city). Staff was generally very friendly and attentive. Hotel prices in Mannheim are generally on the low side compared to other German cities, and I would stay here again if the price is right. If you look for parking, the least expensive parking garage is the "Parkgarage Universität Mensa" - not much further to walk than the parking garages maintained by the city of Mannheim but half the price.

The short answer really is nothing.

This is a familiar haunt of mine when I am in the area both for it's proximity to the nearby mainline railway station but also because it is a high standard Intercity hotel. Particulary of note is the great choice of fayre in the breakfast room! I spent two separate nights here and found the staff on both occasions to be most obliging.

The 1st floor is dark, hallway lights don't turn on for a while and the room was dark. It was darkness or open the curtains to public on the sidewalk inches away. I couldn't get hot water for my tea easily. When I asked the woman in the bar / food area she gave me the oddest look and questioned me twice. She then gave me the smallest cup of water in the world. I think it is pretty normal for people to drink tea during the day so the difficulty getting it was unnecessary.

Great location, steps from the train station and lots going on nearby. Overall a good size, and despite how lively the area was, I wasn't disturbed by noise. I don't know if they have amenities, but overall this hotel worked for my purposes.

The communication with the staff before arrival was confusing. They did not reply to several emails and on the phone, I was told to confirm my reservation with booking.com because they were not sure about it, which was stressful. However, the staff I met at the reception were helpful and professional.

IntercityHotel Mannheim is the best price for money I know in Mannheim. It's located very near the train station with a lot of public transportation connections but also parkings are very nearby. Around the corner there are many small and good priced restaurants to eat. The check in and check out went extremely smoot.
