While the location was not far from bus/tram, the nearby area had vagabonds in the vicinity. Also, knowing ahead of time that the whirlpool was a feature that costs extra would’ve been ideal.

The TV advertised channels in a number of languages; we were not able to connect to any of the English-speaking channels - BBC, CNN, CNBC ... and were informed that these did not work. For a hotel catering to international guests, and in particular to conference-attendees, this is simply unacceptable.

Beds were very comfortable; quiet room; wonderful quality and choice for breakfast.

What I did not like was the air conditioner inside the room. It was weak and not cold, so I opened the window. Unfortunately, one of the windows did not open to circulate the air inside the room. I expected that the air would be cool for better sleep.

We have been there also for a whole day meeting. Lack of toilet on floor 2 and 1 (restaurant floor) (unless they have hidden them pretty good) means you'll need to go to ground floor for toilet break. Fair price for a hotel like this should be 150-175 not 270ish. Perhaps pricing was influenced because of some four day celebrations in Hamburg area.

€29 for breakfast is a hefty sum! The fridge was really dirty. I wouldn’t have wanted to put any food in there.

The location is quiet yet close to all the areas we wanted to go. It’s perfect if you’re seeing the Harry Potter show. Minibar was included during our stay which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you 😊

A fellow guest asked me to present my identification and key card when I got onto the elevator. He was prejudiced and racist in his remarks and demeanor towards me. I am a young black man from the United States and just completed my graduate degree (Masters in Business Administration) from St. Gallen in Switzerland. I responded respectfully and professionally despite his lack of manners. His wife was utterly embarrassed.

Lack of electric chargers in the hotel parking garage left me confused. It's pretty much the first thing you wanna check after a long trip so would be nice to install a few ones.

Excellent hotel at all regards. I never booked in Hyperion network but from now on I will prioritize it in my travels. Free minibar, free lounge with nice selection of meats, cheese and drinks, excellent breakfast and wonderful airy and bright room - you get a lot for the money you pay, and this adds up to a great service. It's only a brief walk to the Hamburg downtown though the road is quite busy out these. Don't forget to checkout the bar on the top floor - it has nice drinks and magnificent views!

No opening window, the room did not have iron and electric kettle, but they were delivered quickly to us after our request.

Unfortunately, the excellent breakfast was spoiled by the serving staff hovering around like vultures waiting to clear the table even if the guest hadn’t finished yet. If I got up to get a refill of coffee or another pastry, I'd come back to find the stuff I was still going to eat gone. It happened both mornings. That was not my only complaint about the staff. When I first checked in, the girl at the reception spoke so softly that I couldn't understand what she was saying no matter what language she used. Then, I discovered that the hair dryer in my room didn't work. I reported it at the reception that first evening and was told someone would contact me about it, but I never heard anything more (as it happened, I didn't need it badly, so I couldn't be bothered pursuing the matter). Finally, I would just mention that the hotel surroundings are quite ugly, but I don't consider Hamburg a very picturesque city anyway, except perhaps near the waterfront.

Once I figured out how to get around, the location turned out to be quite convenient for my purposes: I was able to walk to the Kunsthalle, and the Elbphilharmonie was a short, easy ride with the underground. Breakfast was great: a huge variety to suit every taste and a spacious restaurant area.

If you want to make a water for a tea with coffee machine, there is a slight a problem with the water, cause it is was just pouring yellow “coffee water” with bits of coffee, it was never clean even after i have tried like 5 times to change water. Kettle would be better option. Little smelly in bathroom from drainage otherwise all clean and good.

Breakfast was great and also size of room and room itself. Bed was excellent! Really nice design and restaurant and BAR11 is amazing!
