Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

FranceWhere to start... 1- Hotel rule: paying the room in cash only up to 150 euros. Who does that in 2024? 2- Languages spoken: English, but with Google Translate. 3- Elevator: not up to my room, located on the 3rd floor, only stairs to reach room 405. 4- The curtains don't cover the half of the window, therefore morning light it is. 5- And last but not least: no electricity in my room! The only source of light was a single bulb in the bathroom, hanging from the ceiling, the other one was not working, and that's it. The rest of the room had no electricity at all: no light anywhere, no power outlet, no heating system either. I reported it to the reception, the guys tried to help but only to say "sorry, repair tomorrow". When mentioned to the reception in the morning when I checked out, the lady was apparently not even aware there was an issue in this room. When I asked how to get a refund, I was told to send an email to the manager. I just sent it, let's see.
The location was ok as I was coming only for one night for a concert located 30 min walk from the hotel. The room itself was rather big and kind of quiet, if not for the shower of the room across at 6am.

GermanyThe entrance of the hotel is extremely old and outdated. They first placed us in a room on the ground floor where after 10 min inside the bathroom heater literally fell from the wall, hitting my boyfriend. When we called the receptionist he laughed at us and asked if we placed something on top of the heater (which we didn't). After being accommodated in a different room, we found out on the last night that one of the beds had bedbugs on it, and our friend was completely beaten by them. We tried to contact reception about this matter during check-out, but there was no one there. Tried calling and emailing, also no answer. I cannot emphasize enough: do NOT stay here!

GreeceThere was no WiFi in the room. As it is described on the hotel preview the wifi is available at the lobby. It was not really a downside but this is one thing that can be improved.
When we arrived it was clean, the temperature of the room was perfect. You can adjust the heat by yourself. The bathroom was very nice with all the essential amenities.

NetherlandsThe accommodation was dirty, the room smelled like smoke and mold. Our card didn’t work when we came back in the middle of the night and there was no one we could reach or find. We had to break in our own hotel room to be able to sleep. We used the card to slide the doormechanism, very easy to break in also for other people.. horrible experience, would not recommend.

During check-out, a cleaning lady banged on my door and shouted at me, displaying unprofessional behavior. Clients should never be treated this way, even if they are running late in checking out
