Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe booked a triple room and was only given amenities for 2 people (towels, mugs, glasses etc). We went down to reception to sort this and was told housekeeping will be informed. Only when I told them that i'd like to shower this morning they went into the back for some towels. I was told to get the missing mug/glass from the restaurant myself rather than reception getting this...this confused the waiters who told me I couldn't take anything with me. Clearly nothing was communicated after this as we were still given 2 of everything each day the room was cleaned. It's annoying that such a simple task (comminication) causes this much of a issue.
Comfy beds and a clean room.

BelgiumWe had some issues with the booking room and asked for modifications/adjustments - we got different answers by the different staff at reception, which made us a bit uncomfortable. However, they managed to resolve it, so everyone was happy in the end. Clear communication was key! Note that there is now (Aug-Sep 2024) some construction next to the hotel, so if your room is on side of construction, you might experience some noise during work hours on work week (7am-6pm Mon-Fri). This was not an issue for us necessarily, but I am mentioning for transparency purposes so future guests can be aware. Also, AC was not working in the rooms we had; they offered us to change rooms after a while, but we did not go for it because we changed several rooms in our stay due to complications with our bookings (more on our end).
Welcoming staff was nice. Good location - very quiet neighbourhood and nice places for food and bevarage. Next to metro, so easily connected to various parts of town.

United Arab EmiratesHotel building and rooms are a bit dated. 70s design had a certain charm, I guess. But if you're there for business you won't mind.
Practical hotel without unnecessary clutter. Staff changed room without fuzz when an issue arose in the originally allocated room. Quiet hotel with all rooms having a small balcony. Not far from metro station.

SwedenOur room floor had some leak in the floor. Probably humidity from the bathroom below us. Elevator did not work properly for almost half the trip. They got it fixed eventually though.
Nice place and location. Not a very modern building, but not too old. Food was good, staff was good, we requested an iron into our room and they provided one and we kept it during our stay.

United KingdomWe were unwell one day and room service tray charge was 7,50 euros! So we opted to collect the food from reception. Apart from that all was good!
Nice hotel connected well with the U-bahn, only 5 mins walk from station. Always nice to have a balcony in the room! Bar and beer garden was ideal for the summer and euros fans!

GreeceA renovation would help but as mentioned above, in Greek we say it is "honest".
Best value for money hotel in Munich, I believe. A bit old but still very decent. Good breakfast and very tasty plates served at the lobby. Not a Cosy location but the U-bahn is just round the corner taking you to the heart of Munich in 15-20mins.

CroatiaThe long hallways to get to our room and the bathtub/shower was difficult for my mum to go into. All in all it wasn't very accessible for her because of the long walks to the room and the inability to get into the bathtub due to her mobility issues. I had noted that a room close to the elevator would be ideal for us because of her disability, but I guess the hotel couldn't arrange for us to have a room close to the elevator that the dogs were allowed to stay in (they mentioned at the reception that they have specific rooms alloted for people staying with dogs so that's what I assumed at least).
Quite pet friendly, although expensive to bring 2 dogs (20 euros per dog per day). Ground floor room with door that opens directly to the outside was greatly appreciated as I could just slip out that way to walk my dogs instead of going through the hallways and lobby area. The breakfast is expensive, but amazing! The reception staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming and we even had a late check out after registering for their loyalty programme. Great service :)
