Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom needed some more attention, hairs around bathroom and someone else's food and drink left in the fridge, remote control was filthy. Normally wouldn't mention it but expected more for the price.
Location was excellent, hotel was easy to find. Breakfast was at a high standard. Staff were very friendly.

GermanyWe chose the hotel for the name, wanted to try the Hilton quality. However, going in with high expectations, resulted in quite a disappointment. The rooms are dated and despite the above the average price for the room, the hotel still tries to get extra money wherever they can. The amenities that they have are paid for separately. We visited the pool area, it was quite small. Also, despite the international aspect of the hotel, just know that the sauna areas require you to be naked, and this VERY important detail isn’t mentioned anywhere until you get to the door of the sauna. ‼️ The saunas are shared between men and women, so be careful when taking kids to the ‘spa’ ‼️
The hotel’s location is great, you have two historically significant places to the both sides once you exit the building. The room was clean.

GermanyVery old. Nearly everything needs to get restored. The floors are so boring. No pictures, I felt like I am in the 90s. Bathrooms need to get an update. Breakfast was ok. But I get a better one in some other hotel franchises. The scrambled eggs was a mess. Never had something bad like this. For the price we payed it is a Disappointment. We will definitely select an other hotel next times

CroatiaThe windows were blocked "for guests' safety" and couldn't be opened completely, but rather just a bit. If the weather is hot outside, the room gets warm and a little stuffy. But the most annoying thing was the mode of connecting to the hotel WiFi, which urges the user to re-do the sign-in approx each 24 hours by entering the credentials, and then filling a web form and "purchase" the basic internet connection for 0 euros. Very annoying and impractical. The hotel offers a faster WiFi, but one has to purchase that option. Expect that for all the "little extra" stuff you'll have to pay a little bit, be it a faster internet connection, visiting the swimming pool or loaning an umbrella, etc.
Excellent location in the very center, near the main church. The breakfast is an exceptionally rich buffet, with excellent coffee, good selection of the pastry, and very helpful staff. The room was neat and practical, with iron and ironing board, slippers, bathrobe, and sufficient amount of hangers.

United KingdomThe room thermostat was set at a fixed temperature which was too cold. The duvets were very thin for early March and as a result we were very cold. There were no extra blankets or duvets in the room.
Excellent location close to central square, museums, the river and all tourist attractions. Breakfast was varied with many options. Check in quick and efficient.

Austria- The water in the shower was changing temperature on its own continuously and it was leaking on the floor so that at the end of the shower there was a „lake“ in the bathroom. - very slow check-in and check-out due to very few people (and not all experienced) at the reception - Make sure to put the „do not disturb“ sign on your door because the cleaners will wake you up at 7:50 or 8:30!

GermanyThe building is a little older which shows in the windows (you can't completely open them and as such the air in the room feels rather stuffy) and the bath tube was leaking, making the bathroom floor a small ocean after each shower. The latter might be only my room. The bad air made for a bad night's sleep, and throat felt weird in the morning. Some other small dislikes: The hair dryer was very weak and barely dried our hair. The shampoo made my hair sticky and look oily.
The rooms are clean. The hotel facilities are great, especially the gym (which was very empty each time I was there. They even offer protein shakes there). There is a sauna, pool and very nice staff who provides for everything. The opening times are very long too. The best thing about the hotel might be the staff's smiles, even the housekeeping staff greeted me and gave me a smile - that was great. Great breakfast with a very attentive staff. Even for vegetarians and vegans, there are oats, oat/soy milk, beans, vegetables etc. The location is right in the middle of the historic center of the old city, and there are a lot of restaurant options. My mother and I went for a walk in the morning, and the old city was wonderfully empty.
