Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyPillows too thick and fluffy.
All the staff were lovely. Self service bar with reasonable prices and basic but good rooms. Excellent meals (including wild boar and deer) in the restaurant though somewhat limited selection. Sauna has fantastic views. We plan to return for another stay.

GermanyTwo things we missed in the room were a tea kettle and a small fridge. The latter could be compensated by an always open bar, but there was no kettle there either.
Herrihof has nice views over the Todtnau valley and surrounding mountains. You can dine in either a nicely decorated historical setting or an addition with extensive views. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. The room we were in was well equipped with comfortable beds. Notable was also the very pleasant staff, at the reception, waiters in the restaurant, up to the cook.

GermanyThe staff was not so friendly it was confusing at reception. They told us dinner was from 18:00 to 20:00, but not that we need reserve our table. When we came to dinner they told us that they don't have enough staff and that maybe they can't serve us, but they still find us a table. They were not so friendly, and for a second we had a feeling that they blamed us for asking to eat there and that they don't have enough staff to work. Anyway, we got to eat there but the food was ok.
It was very clean and the hotel room is very modern and everything is new. Also, the location of the village is wonderful. It was amazing to see Moon from our room. Breakfast was delicious.

GermanyFor the dinner they only had dry wine.
The hotel overall was great. Very clean. Room was quite big. Beds very comfortable, including baby's bed (1yr and half). The crew was very customer services oriented. Environment really family friendly and quiete. Breakfast was really good and the dinner was fantastic! Prices for dinner are razonable in comparison with the market. You can chose in between what the have for the day or A la carte. For real I would recommend it to my family and friends. And for sure, We will be back!

BelgiumOur room was all the way on top. We had to do three flights of stairs with our heavy suitcase.
Great location. Both our room and the restaurant had a great view of the surrounding mountains.. It was a very quiet area so we could hear the cow bells in the distance. We also managed to do some stargazing. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

NetherlandsLimited opening hours restaurant (until 20.00 hours and sunday closed). Bathroom without mechanical ventilation, when using the great spacious rainshower to the fully extend everything gets damp. People could see from breakfast room windows into room 14. So we had to keep the curtains closed. So less opportunity to enjoy the great view from the room. Breakfast coffee tasted mediocrate. We arrived late (dark) and with rain, than not very pleasant drive uphil.
Spacious room, extra large shower, great location when good weather, great view from room 14, delicious breakfast

NetherlandsOur room this time was a bit gloomy at the back side of the building, but there is not much that can be done to change that. Restaurant menu - see above. Perhaps make it possible for electric cars to be charged?
Had been here before. Absolutely wonderful location, totally relaxing environment. Beds and bathroom were of good quality. Great breakfast. Restaurant had a bit limited choice, which is perhaps understandable since this was early season, but good quality. Very friendly and helpful staff.

BrazilSince it's up the hill, it's a little drive from the city center of Todtnauberg or Feldberg and there's not much around, it's surrounded mostly by other hotels, so it's better to go with a car. The room and bathroom are both quite small and also expected to have more amenities (complimentary toilletries, maybe an electric kettle for tea and coffee, maybe a small refrigerator). But overall, it's a good hotel, we'd stay there again.
Nice and cozy hotel, beautiful views from the top of the mountain, stunning view from the restaurant during breakfast. Very comfortable beds, good heater in the room and there's also a tv. Breakfast was really great, nice variety, home-baked bread, egg, fruit salad, etc. The restaurant also serves dinner and seemed to have a nice menu, but it was closed on the day we arrived. There's free parking for guests. Great value for money.

LuxembourgI can t say i did not like, but still, I would like to input some suggestions: ( all services were great in the hotel ) : - dinner : introducing some sizes in portions could help to enjoy the excellent restaurant food, without spoiling it by leaving anything in their plates...furthermore, adding some dishes in the menu, like salads with extras ( like caesar salad with grilled chicken stripes, and other uncooked vegetables combination ... ) could help those who prefer to eat light in the evening... - introducing a sauna (for adults only, i have had too many bad experiences with saunas where kids run around...don t spoil it ) somewhere in the garden ( huge plot )
* although I was travelling solo, i received a huge room, with: - many windows offering view over garden & village & one ski slope - double bed, very comfy - office table with power plugs on the desk ( easy to charge computer ), inclusive USB-power ( easy to load ur phone ) , - very good lighting system integrated in the desk wall, - smart tv, connectable with your tablet/phone - a very nice bathroom with huge italian shower & window ( you can shower with a view on the landscape ) And the hotel provides a very decent parking lot, a good ski-room with heated-sticks for your shoes, directly connected ( but with lock on the door, security first ) to the garden/exit on one side, and to the rooms on the other side : best comfort. an all-by- foot connection to the village / resort, and within minutes from bus station, café-kuchen shops,... breakfast is traditional for Germany ( sausage, ham, eggs , bread, marmelade, fruits, cereals, teas, coffee...) and with a very good quality dinner is also very good ( i tested it twice, with various pasta dishes ). Same thing for Wine ( i chose their house wine ). Nevertheless, I believe the quantity is a bit too much for the evening, and i lost all my diets efforts within two meals...

GermanyThere were a few sticky spots on the floor, looked like spills from a beverage or something similar. Other than that, the room was clean.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and there was a large variety of options. In the room we had a tablet with a lot of infos about the hotel and the area, we could check the latest restaurant menu and also reserve a table.
