The pics are not really representative, we expected something better. The room had old furniture, and a strange smell. There was no wifi signal and warm water needed a lot of time to appear. Also we had to climb two floors of old wooden stairs, which is not pleasant with luggage.

The breakfast was very good, as well as the restaurant.

Nice hotel in the countryside outside of Bonn. It's about 15 mins to drive from Bonn. Nice old estate, now apparently used for seminars and conferences etc. The room was basic but in a nice and rustic way. Great breakfast as early as 6:15am.

There wasn't a hot water jug in my room to make coffee or tea but the restaurant staff were very obliging whenever I asked for some.

I loved the character, surroundings & history of the hotel. My room was very comfortable & clean. Staff seemed lovely plus friendly. It was great having a 'German' experience with the food, which was excellent including breakfast. I had to work to recall my german to translate things & initially to check in but that is not a complaint I have with the place. My son & I stayed for 2 nights & I would definitely stay again.

The WIFI is terrible, and the restuarant is not available on all days during the week, and considering there is not a great selection of restaurants in the area, it would have been nice to have a small bar fridge in the room so that personal snacks could be kept there.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the room was clean, and the breakfast was a good selection.

Very good breakfast! I asked for a later check out so I could take a hike in the morning, take a shower and then have lunch at their restaurant before I needed to leave. This was no problem. Enjoyed the hike and the Schlesien raviolis were excellent!

Negative side was that restaurant was closed because of a big wedding next day (we found a another good restaurant 400m away) the pillows are really flatt.

Really authentic gasthaus, friendly staff, great location, comfy quiet rooms. Good breakfast. My kind of gasthaus.

Quite a grand place with a courtyard which I was able to park my bike in and they closed the gates at night. Comfortable room. Food was good.

There is nothing available information-wise in any language other than German and no one spoke English which is unusual I would say in a hotel. Had I not had the German I learned 30 years ago to fall back on it would have been complicated :)

We came in at around 6 pm and there was nobody around, we tried every door and eventually found out that the "reception" was inside the restaurant. We were expecting the room to be old fashioned but not as old fashioned as it actually was. Apart from that it was not clean at all. The floor was dirty and I found a spider next to the curtains. The breakfast had very few choices but the selections very tasty

If you are not a German speaker you will be lost. Everything in the hotel is written in German. I didn't find anyone who spoke English. This gives a feeling of not being welcome. I found it hard to find the entrance and reception. The receptionist was not welcoming and explained how to get to my room in German. The way to the room was not clear, and I only found the room number when I'd got there. The room itself was dowdy. Very worn. The furniture was old, the walls needed painting, my bedside cupboard was stained. The bed was very hard and very uncomfortable. The bathroom was very old. The shower screen was greasy and smeary. The shower had mould in it and needed to be better cleaned to get rid of residual chalk stains. The heating was behind the door. It was dangerous and badly situated. Breakfast was poor. There was choice of cheese, hams, yoghurt, eggs and breads. The bread was old and dried out. The breakfast cake was dry. The scrambled eggs were not available. The coffee had stewed in the can, was lukewarm. It was a disappointment. My room was situated overlooking the internal courtyard, which is also the beer garden and outside restaurant. If it had been good weather I'd have been kept awake by noise until late. It was a cheap hotel. But I'd stayed in a B&B in England for the same price and 100% better service and quality. This place is taking your money but not doing anything to modernise, clean, improve communications with clients. BTW I speak German!

The location was fabulous. If you like hiking, castles, the river. This is a great place. Architecturally, it's an interesting place .

So this didn't really feel like a hotel, more like a piece of beautiful history with a beer garden in it's courtyard, so quiet and peaceful which I really liked, as well as a totally top notch really well organised breakfast in it's lovely restaurant so I fully recommend as value for money. The room was super clean and loved the attic style window
