Nice accommodation in a winery and a good destination for wine lovers. Car access is good and close to the center of touristique city of Eltville.

Had a suite room (no4) that did not have air conditioning. Staff left windows open for some fresh air before we came and so we had mosquitoes inside. Sleeping was not too great - hot stuffy, too big pillows. The tv set is a joke - mini tv with a lot of cables. Either put it normally and hang it on the wall or no tv at all. No fridge in the suite nor rooms. Our company had a room with ac, however they did not use it as it was full of mold. Restaurant/shop is also a joke - after the dinner we wanted to buy some wine from the shop and asked the staff if they could change the warm bottles from the shelf to cool ones from the fridge. The staff explained that then we have to pay the restaurant price (which is more than 2+x their shop price). We bought the much cheaper wine that originally planned and cooleed it in the rooms sink with the running water. Happy to pay a couple of euros extra, but 25 eur for 9 euro wine is a joke. Hotel has a highway from 2 sides and a railway from another. The highway was quite noisy. In general, I would give the lower mark, but the breakfast was ok and the breakfast/morning staff really cool. Also note that such hotels are on different category, hence expectations to them are also higher. I would still stay here 10/10 over an apartment or some pension hotel rated 9+

Houses look really cool, there is plenty of space around wineyards, the place has a peaceful atmosphere. Wine tasting is a very nice idea to introduce to the products.

Setting of the property is beautiful, 50 percent of staff is very courteous like the lady during our breakfast was so very nice rest are ok doing their job.. checkout was cold could have been warmer:( we stayed in the pond house which we didn’t book , they said as they have conference so we won’t be getting the room we originally booked, the upkeep of the patio of our room could have been better , there was used tissue paper near our bed on check in but I think could be small negligence… however we made the most of our time their on our own :) bf spread is good !! Location was easy to find and had ample parking space. All in all good but my expectations were a bit higher:)

Everyone was very nice and friendly. But there was a staff just opened of door of my room before my check out time to see if they can start cleaning. They also vacuumed next to me while I was having my breakfast in the restaurant.

Historical building, view to beautiful vineyards, the wines very fine too. After 6 afternoon you have to find your own way to the rooms. I had the suite. A bit of a rebus, instructions in german too, fortunately I speak german. Suite elegant with stylish interior. All in all recommended

The bed was - for my taste- a bit to firm.

Beautiful location. Easy to find parking in the yard. Very tastefully renovated. The studio upstairs was fantastic with every detail thought through. We had a very nice dinner and breakfast in the restaurant in the yard. The staff were all proffesional and very nice. We even invested in a couple of boxes of wine. We will for sure come back next time.

Bathroom is clean, modern, and private (en suite), but smaller than most. If there is air conditioning, I didn't find it.

Very interesting property (small section of grapevine, some sheep, older buildings with recent updates inside) and a great restaurant/wine tasting room. The wine tasting room features a self-service dispenser for various wines (load a card with money and then charge 0.50Euro samples--seemed very reasonable). Breakfast was excellent. Parking is easy (across a quiet street and spacious). Very friendly staff. Occasionally they host events on site. 10-15 minute walk along the Rhine/Rhein to Eltville, which has some beautiful examples of German architecture and a nice riverfront (including a wine-bar).

We had booked a ground floor apartment with a kitchen and dining area but we in fact given an upstairs double room with an extra room with a sofa bed. This was disappointing but the room was very nice so it was ok. The town too wasn't as rural as we'd hoped with a lot of big roads nearby.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely little town. The rooms are very clean and modern. The beds and the shower especially were wonderful! Staff are very friendly.

i found it quite basic for what you pay for. the room was large but very basic set up. i had expected more for the price. this also showed during breakfast. very simple. i don’t mind that and had read the reviews but was surprised as the hotel actually has quite a bit of potential being in eltville and being such an old an lovely building.

my family lives in the area. i was here for a wedding and it was the only hotel room left during the time. staff, especially cleaning were nice as well as person at check in.

I had the impression that the hotel is run efficiently and with a view to maximizing profits and a high number of guests passing through quickly. However, given the name Gutshof Baron von Knyphausen, you would expect a little more hospitality and professionalism. The service is mainly provided by students who try hard, but who have no training in the hospitality industry and see the service as a temporary student job and do it accordingly. There are instructions in the guest rooms that are intended to make it clear to guests that they should be as efficient as possible for the hosts and leave as punctually as possible without causing the hosts too much work. Coffee for breakfast is served in a camping thermos flask. Anyone who wants a cappuccino or espresso has to pay for the so-called coffee specialties themselves; it goes without saying that the students prepare these coffee specialties themselves free of charge. In my opinion, you can spend an overnight stay there if you are passing through, but that is all.
