Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IsraelThere is air conditioning in the room, but it's quite weak. On the hot days when I returned to the room from outside it wasn't enough so I took cold showers... and they charge 20 euros for a late check out.
The location in Prenzlauer-berg is quite good - M4 tram is right outside to get you to Alexanderplatz (and to the airport). Plenty of restaurants in the area, especially if you like Thai /Vietnamese food, you'll be surrounded by those... The bed and the shower are quite good.

United KingdomThe only things were that coffee wasn't refilled after the first day, and that the glasses we drank coffee out of were not cleaned. Minor, and no issues other than that!
Great location in the centre of Berlin, about 15-20 mins north of Alexanderplatz on foot (or 5 mins by tram). Lots of cute eateries in the immediate vicinity, and much more within walking/short tram distance. (Check out Manufacture Delicate for breakfast, and Curry 32 for delicious and cheap currywurst!) The room was a 'small budget' room but was a great size for me and my partner, and came with a balcony, too! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we liked that separate duvets were provided, and a proper double mattress. The shower was excellent too, and the toiletries were of high quality. Staff at the hotel were friendly and everything was very efficient. Would definitely stay again!

GermanyWindows are facing a relatively loud road so you have to keep it closed at night. Windows are soundproof though, so that's not a big issue. No fridge, no USB sockets.
Spacious room with a large bed and even a small balcony. Location is very close to a tram station which is some 10 minutes away from Alexanderplatz. Friendly and polite staff.

NetherlandsWe were quite surprised by the unfriendliness of the staff at the reception (with the exception of 1 male employee) - the ladies working at the reception were unwilling to smile, seemed to be annoyed by us (family with kids) tapping some of the complimentary water that was there to be tapped, etc. We felt as if we were a bother to them, which was quite a pity considering that it otherwise is a nice hotel.
It's a recently renovated hotel with very nice rooms (we stayed in quite a large family room), nice (and very clean!) bathrooms, well located for exploring the city (it's in the nice, family-friendly area of Prenzlauer Berg).

GermanyThe hotel seemed to be renovated lately. The entrance area is very inviting. My room was great, calm. My expectations were met fully. The area ist local, just around the corner from a great Parc. The tram to the Alexanderplatz, from where you have access to all means of transportation to all attractions, runs every 5 minutes. I can truly recommend this hotel.
