Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyWhat I didn’t like: The room itself is quite basic, with minimal facilities aside from a small bathroom and shower, which might feel cramped for some. However, there are additional bathrooms available in the hallway that can be used if needed.
The location is excellent, just a short walk from Hamburg Central Train Station, making it very convenient for travelers. The hostel also provides lockers downstairs where you can securely store your luggage and explore the city without any hassle.

Hostel is right next to the main station. Rooms are spacious enough, but toilets are very small. However, they are some (bigger) toilets in each floor.

AustriaOne of the staff, was extremly slow. I met him ont he morning of the 16. September and he needed like 10 minutes per person, even if it was a simple request like a checkout. Furthermore his german was really bad and even his english was not that great
The Location is ideal for travellers, even more if you are only staying for 1-2 nights. However in the night there are a lot of weird people at the HBF and since it‘s next to the hostel, you would meet them as well

Also has no cutlery or a specific place to prepare your food if you buy outside. Not very welcoming, would not even recommend to socialise. Unfortunately couldn’t cancel the rest of my nights. AustraliaDue to the location of this hostel, it was very noisy. We had to keep the window open to try and cool the room (there is no AC), and in doing this we were met with very loud protests, and groups of loud drunk people throughout each night. It is much quieter with the window closed, however, it is then very hot in summer.
The room was quite spacious and had a large television. There was plenty of bathroom amenities provided.

IrelandI didn't like the pillow much because it was very low and I had to sleep with my arm under my head. Another point was the summer in Germany is very high, with high temperatures, and the room is very warm. They need to think about putting an air conditioner to make tourist life more comfortable.
The room was lovely, with a very comfy bed. It was very clean and is value for the price. The location is amazing, just beside the central station, so I could easily go everywhere.

The location is very good, close to the central train station and the metro. The bed is comfortable and there's a box under the bed where you can store your personal belongings (I recommend taking a padlock).
