Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThere was some screaming on the street during the night. I had to go up a few floors.
The staff are not there the whole time but when they are the are very kind and helpful. The room was very well equiped and the location was practical, near the train station with lots of public transportation nearby.

United KingdomI would recommend always walking along the road to the hotel from the Train Station to the right as you face it. The road parallel ,on the town side, is very seedy, crackheads , by the underpass. But the route I mention perfectly safe
Lovely room with tea/coffee making, T.V , good size bathroom. Location about 5 minutes walk from Central Station. Staff where helpful and automatic check in smooth. Comfortable bed

TurkeyWe stayed on the 1st floor (our room's name was Istanbul). The internet connection was really bad. If you want to work from your hotel room or only search on social media, it is impossible because of that. AND The bed was squeaking. It made an excessive noise when turning from side to side.
Clean, silence, safe and comfortable. Friendly stuff.

GermanyIt is perfectly located. Couple of minutes walking distance from the main train station. On the other hand, you can get to the historic city in 10 minutes. Just perfect if you are in Bremen to explore it. Rooms are clean. Breakfast area is also nice. Breakfast is not overly varied, but this is what you get for this price range. Staff is super friendly and accommodating.

IrelandThe location is within the vicinity the main train station (dodgy area), but the hotel itself does everything to keep the access secure with several locks.
Clear key box instructions. Very comfortable, quiet and clean rooms. Personally, I did not have issues with the firm mattress. Bonus points for kettle, tea/coffee facilities (not standard in German hospitality). Very friendly staff. It is good value all over

United KingdomI'm not sure I'd want to be walking back to the hotel late at night on my own but once inside I felt really safe and secure.
The hotel was close to the main station and short walk to the city centre. The staff were really helpful I was able to check in really early. My room was very clean and comfy. The breakfast was basic but good value

PolandThe place is excellently located close to the rail station and the ols town. The keys collection was easy and the staff was always friendly and eager to help. The rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator, so not the best for people with strollers - I thing we didn't know about before (but the staff did everything to manage comfortable management of our stroller). Also the rooms do not have a fridge or other kitchen amenities beyond electric kettle for tea and coffee. Other than that we ware all content with out stay.

DenmarkNo lift - but we knew that when we booked.
The room was great with a small but good bathroom. The house is located in a quiet street only 10 min walk from Rathaus. Good service and brakfast. Parking in the street with parking ticket but easy to find a empty place. The Gesthouse offers parking in a place with gate, but they only have space for one car, so you have to make reservation.

United KingdomI stayed only for one night after a party weekend and simply needed a place to get a good night sleep before travelling onwards. Being on a Sunday night and arriving late I knew there would be limited experience of the place for example bar or restaurant. I arrived well after reception closed but clear instructions were sent to me on how to get my key along with a notice on the front door. The best thing about the guest house is how clean it was and the small touches the staff had left in the room examples being arranged pillows and flannels folded into a fan shape. It felt like much effort went into making sure the rooms was as comfortable as it could be which it certainly was. Overall, considering my circumstances for staying, a very pleasant night was had!

BrazilIt's close to a main street, and very early in the morning, you can hear sirens. The fact that there's no one at the reception when I arrived, I had to climb more than six flights of stairs with a very heavy suitcase after more than 14 hours of travel. It was terrible. The hotel could inform that there are no elevators.
Good location, close to the main train station (HBF), within walking distance. There are shops nearby. I really liked my room and the cleanliness.

SwedenThe mattress is a bit stiff, the host needs to read and respond to Booking messages. I asked for toiletries as there was almost none on arrival, thankfully I saw the housekeeper next morning, she generously provided me with what I needed. No soap liquid close to the sink!!. Only one bottle for everything in the shower cabin only!
Clean, tidy single room and bathroom, quiet area so you can sleep in peace, fully equipped with all the facilities required and as described in Booking.com, provided with toiletries, tea, coffee bags, good wifi signal, Great location, only 4 min walk to Bremen Haptbanhoff, very close to variety of shops and restaurants.

GermanyThe area around the Bremen Hauptbahnhof is what is called 'sketchy.' Along the short walk to the hotel, I passed by two groups of men loitering around. I arrived in the early evening while there was still plenty of light in the sky and a lot of people milling around. If I had arrived after dark or in the middle of the night, I might have felt a bit more anxious about the walk. There was, in any case, a visible police presence in the area around the train station.
I had a good experience during my one-night stay at this modest-but-clean hotel conveniently located near the central train station. I arrived after the hours during which the reception counter is staffed, but that was not a problem as my key was stored in an automatic safe and was dispensed after I entered a code. The Wi-Fi was good and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. I had an adjoining (or 'en suite') bathroom to myself. My room contained an electric kettle with supplies to make tea (and exactly one cup of coffee) in the room, which suited me as I needed to depart early in the morning and did not want to take the time for breakfast. Breakfast was on offer for an additional 10 Euros.
