This small but cozy apartment is in a very old building just a few houses down from the Plonlein, the location for the most iconic photograph in Rothenburg. We very much enjoyed our stay at Gasthaus am Plonlein. The location is excellent for exploring this beautiful walled town. Carmen is also very nice and communicative. We highly recommend this apartment for those visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

We had an amazing stay! The location of the apartment is great and we got a stunning view from our room. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade, which made us stay in the big roof apartment. So grateful!! Communication with the host was also very easy. She is very kind. Would definitely recommend! And hope to stay here again some time in the future. (Just a little tip: a second key to the room would have been great.)

There was nothing I didn’t like; it was better than I had expected in every category—location, room, facilities, service, comfort, etc.

I liked everything! The location was superb, the room was the coolest space I’ve ever stayed in, and the owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Perfect spot for the Rothenburg Middle Age Fest.

Liked everything. Hard to improve perfection, but maybe adding a fan in the bedroom for when it is very hot.

The gastehaus is a historical building beautifully preserved. The apartment was nicely furnished. All in all just perfect!

Perfect spot in the middle of it all! We stayed for 2 nights and could easily stayed longer. The top apartment offered everything for a relaxed stay. Very equipped kitchen, large enough living with stunning views, barroom with separate toilet, bath and shower. Ned’s were very comfortable too. The decor had lots of character and felt really homey. The location couldn’t be more perfect. Parking at a few minutes for 6 euro per 24h. The host (Carmen) was extremely friendly and responsive. We hope to stay here again next winter.

The room didn’t have an air-con but it did have a fan.

I didn’t realise my room would be an apartment with a separate kitchen area- amazing! Had everything you’d need and more. Location was perfectly central, right by the famous “photo spot”. Furnishings were very nice and traditional. The owner was lovely and allowed us to check in a bit earlier since we arrived early. Very grateful for this!

This place is amazing. Everything about the property is fantastic and beautiful. Our room was spacious, well furnished, very clean and tidy with a great range of facilities. The location is very central and just a few metres from one of the iconic landmarks. The host is incredibly friendly and helpful. There is nothing about this place that isn't great. Considering the quality of the property and its location it is incredible value for money
