There was a scaffolding up on the outside covering our kitchen window but it is great to see improvements and the wonderful restoration work everywhere in the medieval town so it bothered us not so much. It was noisy due to the close proximity of the houses in the ‘Zwischenhausen’ street, proximity to pubs and the trash cans just under our windows were filled late at night and employed early in the morning. It is a lively town with many students and late home comers from pubs can be heard but this has to be expected in a busy student- and tourist- filled town and is compensated by so much charm, history and the central location where I also lived as a student myself.

Excellent location, very central for sight seeing by foot and for use of public transport. Compared to other similar restaurants the food was fantastic, typical traditional German food, lovingly prepared, abundant, just like my mother and grandmother used to cook it. The service was prompt and lovely, attentive and not bothering you too often like some do these days. We had a small apartment in a side building with everything you need for a short stay.

Unfortunately very noisy. Youngsters outside shouting, laughing & talking. There was still shouting outside at 4am.

Traditional guesthouse with great restaurant. Breakfast was good.

The building is old, so comforts such as elevator do not exist. Overall, the price was too high for the value. There was nothing complimentary in the room - not even a bottle of water.

Comfortable small apartment. We liked the central location of the hotel.

Had my own bathroom separate from the room. Toilet paper was running out. Soap was running out. Coffee machine but just one pod. A bit more generosity would have been welcome. Check in also wasn't friendly though to be fair he was busy in the pub. I also looked out on to the street and it was really noisey. At night from the pub and in the early hours from garbage collection and deliveries.

Beautiful building and good room. Beds were comfortable. Good room. Good access to the station. Much to like.

They didn’t clean the room at all. It was more like an apartment though.

There was a lot of space and the restaurant was fantastic! The food and the homemade laminates especially.

No complaints as long as guests are aware in advance that there are no elevators. Also, we were a party of five in three rooms and we were split between two buildings. Not a big deal, but I would have liked to have know in advance.

The location was amazing, right in the old part of town in a very old half-timber building. We came to sightsee and take in the Christmas Market, which ended up being only steps away. I regret not signing up for the breakfast when I saw tons of fresh foods being delivered the next morning. Obviously a very popular restaurant! The rooms appeared to have been very recently remodeled. The ceilings are very low and there is not elevator, but every thing was very clean and fresh. Room included a mini fridge. I also appreciated the clear information in advance about local parking options.

There is no elevator, which makes is a burden if your room is on the third floor. Some rooms lack a bathroom: there is a shared bathroom on the same floor.

The location is fine, close to the old center of Marburg. It consists of several houses. Rooms are distributed over those houses. Rooms are simple but satisfactory.

the only thing I didn’t really like was the way going up to the room. you had to pass threw a stair case that leads you to the private area of the restaurant and hotel. Would’ve preferred it to be better organised with a direct way to the rooms without pass threw all that.

The room/aps are really clean and spacious. The location is just great and the stuff very helpful !

Walls were unfortunately very thin, and you could hear people passing through the hallway where the room was. The mattress of the bed was entirely sunken in, souring the stay.

Beautiful, historical house in a great, central location. Restaurant downstairs. Staff was kind and let us store our baggage downstairs, and let us check in early.

There is a tap water issue since the rooms with shared bathrooms do not have any sinks inside. It feels unhygienic to use the tap water from the shared bathroom since a lot of people use it during the day and it is not cleaned very often. Also the facilities are closed most of the time so you cannot also go buy from downstairs. They can prepare a sink or tap water source (Trinkwasserspende) out of the toilets.

we could not taste the breakfast. Indeed, we were not told beforehand that we had to pre-reserve our table for the breakfast. When we showed up in the morning, we were we could not have breakfast there. Sound insulation against noise inside the building is poor ( you hear everytime a neighbor opens/closes his/her door).

Location is excellent, although parking close by is an issue ( if you drive with thecar). Sound insulation against external noise ( = street) is excellent.

It's an historic building, so it's kind of unfair to be bothered by low ceilings, narrow staircases and such things. But still, a shared bathroom feels off for a hotel room in that price category.
