Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumWe seemed to be the only guests, the restaurant in the hotel was closed, so was the lounge near the river which wasn't stated on booking or mentioned in advance. The bathroom was tiny and the mattresses older with lots of dust on the very cute little roof above the bed. We went to dinner in a neighboring village, 3 km away by foot that was recommended by our host which was good.
The hotel is right near the Donau along a beautiful walking/cycling path with traditional interiors which make it look very cosy and cute. It's in a tiny village in between the green fields which is beautiful and right near the highway. Our breakfast was delicious, they made us a breadbasket with fresh white rolls and pretzel type tiny baguettes with fresh cold cuts and cheese with orange juice, tea and coffee. The room is just what you need for a night over. You fall asleep with the sounds of the river.

GermanyOn our arrival day, the hotel restaurant was closed. We would have liked this information prior to arrival as we would have eaten before coming, after spending a whole day sight sightseeing. Unfortunately, the places close by were also closed, and we had to drive another 15 mins trying to find somewhere to eat. Internet connection was really bad, or had none, the wireless password was stuck on a tiny piece of paper on the desk, behind the TV, which we didn't find until we just about left. Also, here, info would have been good. Unfortunately, we didn't sleep well because of the freight trains passing through on the other side of the river, the whole night!
Breakfast was really good, waitress very friendly!
